SCHEDULE.
DISTRICT IN WHICH NATIVE AND IMPORTED GAME MAY NOT
BE TAKEN OR KILLED.
ALL that portion of the Counties of Marlborough and Sounds
known as the Wairau Lagoons. Bounded generally on the
West by the Wairau River to the confluence of the Opawa,
and by that river to Morgan’s Creek; thence by Morgan’s
Creek and Sections Nos. 22, 21, and 20 to the north-west
angle of Section No. 18, all in the District of Opawa; thence
southerly by said Section No. 18 to the Mud Flats; thence
southerly by Sections No. 18, 15, 14, part of 13, and 7 of
Block I., Section No. 8 of Block II., in the said district, and
Sections Nos. 9 and 10 of Block II., District of Awatere, to
the Boulder Bank; thence northerly by the sea to the mouth
of the Wairau River, at the point of departure.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this sixth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven.

Fixing Shooting Season for Native Game, Kaikoura District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals
Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same,
I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that native game
(excepting tuis) may be taken or killed in the Kaikoura
District, comprising the Counties of Amuri and Kaikoura,
from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-seven, both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Fixing Shooting Season for Imported Game, License Fee,
&c., Geraldine County District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals
Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same,
I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants
and quail may be taken or killed within the Geraldine County
District, consisting of that part of the County of Geraldine
lying to the north of the Opihi River, from the first day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, to the
thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-seven, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the
restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further
notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said
district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty
shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be
issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the
Postmaster at Temuka is hereby appointed to issue and sign
the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game
(excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said
district from the first day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, both inclusive.

&c., Waitaki District.

Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same,
I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that hares may be
taken or killed within the Waitaki District, consisting of the
County of Waitaki, from the first day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of
August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, both
inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said
Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to
take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued
on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that
licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the
sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at
Oamaru is hereby appointed to issue and sign the said
licenses. And I do further notify that native game (except-
ing tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from
the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-seven, both inclusive.

I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheas-
sants and hares may be taken or killed within the North
Canterbury District, consisting of the Counties of Cheviot,
Ashley, Akaroa, Selwyn, and Ashburton, from the first day
of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, to
the thirty-first day of August, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-seven, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the
restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further
notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said
district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty
shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be
issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the
Chief Postmaster at Christchurch and the Postmaster at
Ashburton are hereby appointed to issue and sign the said
licenses. And I do further notify that native game (except-
ing tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district
from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-seven, both inclusive.

Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that Californian
quail may be taken or killed within the Lake District, con-
sisting of the County of Lake, from the first day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, to the thirty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
seven, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restric-
tions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify
that licenses to take or kill such game within the said
district shall be issued on payment of the sum of ten
shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be
issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the
Postmaster at Queenstown is hereby appointed to issue and
sign the said licenses. And I do further notify that native
game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said
district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, both inclusive.

Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same,
I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that hares may be
taken or killed within the Southland District, consisting
of so much of the County of Southland as lies to the west-
ward of the Mataura River, together with the Counties of
Fiord, Wallace, and Stewart Island, exclusive of the Maka-
rewa River and its tributaries, and the land within half a
mile of the banks thereof, from the first day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, to the thirty-first
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.
