both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of thirty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Invercargill is hereby appointed to issue and sign the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Kaka protected under the Animals Protection Act.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that, from and after the date hereof, the bird known as the kaka (Nestor meridionalis) shall within the Southland District come within the operation of the said Act as fully and effectually as if they had been included in the Fourth Schedule thereto; and I do further notify and declare that the said birds shall not be taken or killed within the said district.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Fixing Sittings of District Court at Oamaru.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that a sitting of the District Court of Timaru and Oamaru shall be held as follows, in lieu of the sitting of the said Court for criminal business previously fixed and appointed on the twenty-eighth day of September next, viz. :—
In the Courthouse at Oamaru, for the despatch of criminal business, on Wednesday, the twentieth day of July next.

Regulations for the Election and Meeting of the Members of the North of Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

WHEREAS by section thirty of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act 1885 Amendment Act, 1886,” the North of Auckland District, as defined in section forty of the said Act, was, on and after the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, constituted a hospital district :
And whereas no provision has been made for the appointment or election of a Board for the said district, or for the first meeting of such Board, and it is expedient to make the regulations herein set forth :
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by section ninety-nine of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885,” and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby make and prescribe the regulations hereinafter set forth for the election and for the first meeting of the members of the said Board.
REGULATIONS.
(1.) THE Councils of the counties comprising the North of Auckland District shall each, on or before the twenty-eighth day of April, 1887, appoint a member or members to the Board of the said district as follows, viz. :—
Whangaroa County .. .. 1 member.
Mongonui County .. .. 1 member.
Bay of Islands County .. .. 2 members.
Hokianga County .. .. 1 member.
Whangarei County .. .. 4 members.
Hobson County .. .. 2 members.
Otamatea County .. .. 2 members.
(2.) The first meeting of the Board shall be held at the Courthouse, Kawakawa, at 2 o’clock p.m., on Friday, the 29th day of April, and four members shall form a quorum.
(3.) One of the members representing the Bay of Islands County Council on the said Board shall preside at the said meeting until a Chairman has been duly elected.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is provided that the reserves to be made for any borough or town district under such section shall be made only in cases where no such reserves for the purpose of sections three, five, and six of “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” exist therein, or, if existing, do not equal or exceed the amount of reserves authorized to be made under such last-mentioned Act :
And whereas the existing reserves for the Town of Grey Town do not equal the amount of reserves authorized to be made under “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” and it appears expedient to make the reserves hereinafter mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the seventeenth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the lands enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby reserved for the purpose stated opposite to the descriptions of such land in the second column hereto, for the benefit of the Town of Grey Town, as constituted under the provisions of “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” on the eighteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
