Sir,—I have the honour to direct your attention to the fact that the disease “tuberculosis in cattle” has, by an order of the Governor in Council dated the 25th January, 1887, been placed on the Second Schedule to the regulations dated the 19th March, 1880, under “The Diseases in Stock Act, 1872,” of this colony. The result of this step will be that cattle suffering from tuberculosis will be dealt with in Victoria in the same manner as cattle suffering from pleuro. You will perhaps deem it desirable to disseminate this information amongst stockowners in New Zealand.
