Special Orders made by Patangata County Council.—Adopting “Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and Notice of Proposed Loan.

THE following special orders, made by the Council of the County of Patangata, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1876,” and its amendments, “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886.”

SPECIAL ORDERS made by Patangata County Council.

On the 12th October, 1886:—

  1. That the Council adopt the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” by special order.

On the 10th November, 1886:—
2. That this Council apply to the Colonial Treasurer for a loan of £5,000, under the provisions of the Government Loans to Local Bodies and Local Bodies’ Loans Acts of 1886, for the purpose of erecting a bridge over the Tukituki River at Tamumu.

That the cost of raising the loan be paid out of same.

That, as security for payment of interest, a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound be struck on all rateable property within the Tamumu Riding, payable half-yearly, for twenty-six years, on the 1st January and the 1st July.

I certify that the above resolutions were duly passed by special order, in conformity with the provisions of “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1885,” and the Local Bodies’ Loans and Government Loans to Local Bodies Acts of 1886.

COUNTY OF WAIPAWA.—Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £12,000.

I HEREBY give notice that, at the poll taken on Saturday, the 11th December, 1886, under the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1876,” and amendments thereof, for the purpose of borrowing the sum of £12,000 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the votes recorded were as follows:—

For the proposal .. .. .. 410
Against the proposal .. .. .. 43

As the number of votes given in favour of the proposal exceeds three-fifths of the total number of votes given at such poll, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.
