Special Order made by Waitemata County Council.—Altering Boundaries of Birkenhead Road District, and constituting Greenhithe Road District.

THE following special order, made by the Waitemata County Council, is published in accordance with “The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882,” and the Acts amending the same.

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Waitemata County Council, on the 24th day of November, 1886, altering the Boundaries of the Birkenhead Road District, and constituting the Greenhithe Road District.

THAT the boundaries of the Birkenhead Road District, Takapuna Riding, be altered by excluding from that road district that portion known as the Greenhithe District, and constituting the latter a new road district under “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” without subdivisions, and that the new district shall be known as the Greenhithe Road District; and that the Board thereof shall consist of five members. That the boundaries of the said Greenhithe Road District shall be those described in Schedule No. 1 following, and that the boundaries of the Birkenhead Road District as so altered shall be those described in Schedule No. 2 following. That such special order shall take effect on and after the 1st January, 1887.

Schedule No. 1.—Greenhithe Road District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded generally towards the North-east by Section No. 37 to the middle of the road running through Section No. 25; thence by the middle of that road, by the middle of the road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 136, 138, and 139, all of the Parish of Paremoremo, across a road, by the middle of the road forming the south-western boundaries of the western, middle, and south-eastern portions of Section No. 205, the north-west, north-west middle, middle, and south-east portions of Section No. 204, across a road, by the middle of the road forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 120, across a road, and by the middle of the road forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 3; towards the South-east by the middle of the road forming the north-western boundary of said Section No. 3; towards the South-west to and by the middle of the road forming the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 221 and 222, all of the Parish of Takapuna, to the Kaipatiki Stream; thence again towards the South-east by that stream; generally towards the South by the Kaipatiki and Hellyer’s Creeks; again towards the South-west by the Waitemata River; and generally towards the North-west by Lucas Creek: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.

Schedule No. 2.—Birkenhead Road District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the North-west and generally towards the North-east and East by the Lake Road District, as described in Gazette No. 42, of 1883, page 647, and by the Northcote Road district, as described in Gazette No. 13, of 1884, page 190, from the southernmost corner of Section No. 305, Parish of Pukeatus, to the Waitemata Harbour; thence towards the South and South-west by that harbour; generally towards the North by Hellyer’s and Kaipatiki Creeks to the Kaipatiki Stream; thence again towards the North-west, and North-east, North-west, and South-west by the Green-

hithe Road District, hereinbefore described; again towards the North-west by Lucas Creek and by the Pukeatua Road District, as described in Gazette No. 42, of 1883, page 648: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.

Le Bon’s Bay Road District, County of Akaroa.—Proposal to raise a Special Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Le Bon’s Bay Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

PROPOSAL TO RAISE A SPECIAL LOAN OF £1,500.

The Colonial Secretary.

SIR,—In accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers limited to that part of Le Bon’s Bay Road District affected, taken on Friday, the 19th November, to decide whether a resolution of the Le Bon’s Bay Road Board, proposing to borrow the sum of £1,500 for the purpose of building jetty and forming road to same in Le Bon’s Bay, should be acceded to or rejected, the number of votes were—

Against the proposal .. .. .. 2

The majority of ratepayers voting for the proposal, and their votes being more than one-half of the total number that could be exercised, I have declared the resolution carried.

Notice of Proposed Loan, Akaroa and Wainui Road District.

THE following notice, received from the Returning Officer, Akaroa and Wainui Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

SIR,—


At a public meeting of ratepayers, at the Board’s office, on the 15th October, 1886, it was unanimously agreed to apply to the Government for the sum of £3,000 sterling by way of loan, under the Acts as quoted above [“Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” “Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886”], for the purpose of repairing extraordinary damages caused by floods to the roads and bridges; and that the loan, if procured, be secured by special rate of three-sixteenths of 1d. in the £1, and to work under clause 10 of the Loans to Local Bodies’ Acts; and, further, that I did take a poll on the 2nd November, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,” which resulted as follows:—
