Revoking the Setting-apart of land in Otago for Agricultural Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-fourth section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor to cause Crown lands situate within a goldfield to be selected and set apart for the purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor, or for alienation by occupation licenses on deferred payments, under any law for the time being in force in the land district in which such mining district is situate:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by Proclamation dated the twelfth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, set apart for agricultural lease:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to revoke the said Proclamation in so far as it relates to the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the said Proclamation of the twelfth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, in so far as it relates to the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Land taken for a Road in Peninsula Road District, Provincial District of Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Peninsula Road District, Provincial District of Otago:

And whereas the Peninsula Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act, and the amendments thereof:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road.

Altering Boundaries of Ridings in the County of Mongonui.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of December, 1886.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by a special order, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, the Mongonui County Council constituted the Victoria Valley Road District and amended the boundaries of the Oruru Road District, and thus caused the boundaries of the Mongonui Riding to be not in conformity with the provisions of section twenty-three of “The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882:”

And whereas the said County Council has neglected to pass a special order altering the said riding, as required by the said Act, within six months from the said twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that, from and after the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, the boundaries of the aforesaid Riding of Mongonui shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.

MONGONUI RIDING.

ALL that area known as the Road Districts of Oruaiti and Mongonui Township, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, 18th May, 1883, and the Road Districts of Oruru and Victoria Valley, as described in a special order in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16, 25th March, 1886.
