Centre Race.—All that strip of land, 25 links in width, situate in the Selwyn Survey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the western side of the Southern Railway Reserve at the easternmost corner of Section No. 14478, and proceeding south-easterly over the said railway reserve and through Reserve No. 1762 and Section No. 25604, over a road, through Section No. 25605, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 25607, 26181, 15197, 18439, 15197 aforesaid, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 15198, 28591, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 15730, 26040, 34017, 26045, 30082, 23252, 17634, 26129, 25922, 13504, along and over a road, and along the north-east side of Sections Nos. 10080, 25322, 25320, 27586, Crown lands, and Section No. 23149 to the south-east corner of the last-mentioned section.

Gale’s Race.—All that strip of land, 25 links in width, situate in the Selwyn Survey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the western side of the Southern Railway Reserve at a point opposite the northernmost corner of Section No. 29916, and proceeding easterly through the said railway reserve, Reserve No. 1762, and Section No. 29688, over the Great South Road, and through Sections Nos. 29688 aforesaid, 28895, over a road, through Section No. 29687, over a road, and through Section No. 29870, Crown lands, over a road, and through Section No. 32287, over a road, and through Crown lands to a point about 1000 links distant from the last-mentioned road.

Rakaia Race.—All that strip of land, 25 links in width, situate in the Selwyn Survey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the western side of the Southern Railway Reserve at Section No. 16652, and proceeding south-easterly across the said railway reserve and Reserve No. 1762, and through Sections Nos. 25763, 9849, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 12646, 32493, over a road, and through Section No. 25629, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 25421, 25420, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 25279, 25280, 25335, over a road, and through Section No. 32284, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 33588, 34020, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 25630, 25336, and 14393, and over a road to the westernmost corner of Section No. 25337.

Campbell’s Race.—All that strip of land, 25 links in width, situate in the Selwyn Survey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the Rakaia Race, hereinbefore described, in Section No. 25335, and proceeding easterly through the aforesaid Section No. 25335 and Section No. 25551, through Crown lands, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 33392, 33468, and Crown lands, over a road, and through Section No. 29701, over a road, and through Sections Nos. 23415, 14337, and 12341 to the road forming the north-western boundary of Section No. 10546.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by section thirty-two of “The Counties Acts Amendment Act, 1883,” and at the request of the Selwyn County Council, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be a water-race, as defined by section thirty-one of the said Act, to be known by the name of the Hororata Water-race; and, further, that the River Hororata, in the County of Selwyn, shall be a stream which may be taken for the purpose of supplying the said water-race.

SCHEDULE.

HORORATA WATER-RACE DISTRICT.

Hororata Water-race (Extensions).

Centre Race.—All that strip of land, 25 links in width, situate in the Survey Districts of Hororata and Hall, County of Selwyn, commencing at the Hororata Water-race at a point in Section No. 27011, Hororata Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly through the aforesaid Section No. 27011 and Sections Nos. 29207, 27103, 32705, 27027, 29055, 27025, 27028, and 32705 aforesaid, 27102, 32706, 26986, 32707, 27109, 27110, Crown lands, and Section No. 27108; thence through Crown land, across a road, and through Sections Nos. 31435, 29242, 29384, 32708, 31437, across a road, and through Sections Nos. 29201, 31436, 33882, 29095, 27169, 29094, 27168, 29093, 27167, 29092, 27166, 29091, and along and across the road forming the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the south-west corner of Section No. 32925; thence south-easterly through Crown and deferred-payment land, Hall Survey District, and across the roads intersecting the aforesaid land, and through Section No. 32290 to the south-west side of the road between Sections No. 32290 aforesaid and No. 30752, at a point opposite Trig. 37r.

Darroch and Bealey’s Race.—All that strip of land, 25 links in width, situate in the Hall and Selwyn Survey Districts, County of Selwyn, commencing at the Hororata Water-race at a point on the north-eastern side of the road between Sections Nos. 28943 and 28942, Hall Survey District; thence south-westerly and southerly over the said road and Section No. 28942 aforesaid, and through Sections Nos. 28816, 31268, 27092, 27091, 27090, and across a road, and through Plantation Reserve No. 2662 and Sections Nos. 31066, 21189, 14728, 33571, across a road, and through Section No. 33570 to a point distant 2000 links from the last-mentioned road.

ALL that area, 25 links wide, situate in the Hawkins and Hororata Survey Districts, County of Selwyn, commencing on the left bank of the Selwyn River in or near Reserve No. 2407, Hororata Survey District, and proceeding in an easterly direction, intersecting Reserves Nos. 2408 and 1288, to and across the Selwyn Bridge Road; thence south-easterly along the south side of the Home Bush and Selwyn Road to a point opposite the south-western corner of Reserve No. 1555; thence across the said road to its eastern side; thence southerly along the said road to the south-eastern corner of the said reserve; thence easterly and southerly, intersecting Section No. 22918, Hororata Survey District, and Section No. 28841, Hawkins Survey District, and Reserve No. 1556, to and across a public road forming the boundary between the South Malvern and Courtenay Road Districts; thence north-easterly intersecting Reserve No. 1522 and Sections Nos. 32094 and 32093; thence generally southerly, intersecting Sections Nos. 32093, 32307, and 26140, to and across Waireka Road; thence intersecting Sections Nos. 26141, 24280, 26130, and 26641 to and across a public road; thence westerly intersecting Sections Nos. 16248 and 18520; thence southerly intersecting Section No. 24286; thence westerly along the
