A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Manawatu County, Provincial District of Wellington: And whereas the Manawatu County Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so mentioned shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the Manawatu County, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Industrial Schools Act, 1882,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the colony, doth order that the forms set forth in the Schedule hereto, and distinguished as Form four and Form six, shall be used instead of the forms heretofore used for the purposes to which such forms are respectively applicable.

SCHEDULE.

(Form 4.)

ORDER FOR MAINTENANCE OF A CHILD.

(“The Industrial Schools Act, 1882,” Section 33.)

WHEREAS [name and residence of child], was, by an order made this day, directed to be sent to the Industrial School at , to be there detained as an inmate in terms of the said order; and it has been made to appear to me that [name, residence, and calling of parent], the parent of the said child, is able to contribute towards [his or her] maintenance and education:

Now I do hereby order and direct that the said shall pay to the [Here insert Manager of the said school, or (if the school is a private school) the Clerk of the Resident Magistrate’s Court at ], for the time being, the sum of per week for the maintenance and education of the said child; such payments to commence as from the day of , 188 , and to be continued until the day of , 188 , unless such child shall be sooner discharged from the said school, or die before the last-mentioned date.

[N.B.—A copy of this order, when made, must be sent by the Clerk of the Court or Registrar to the Minister of Education.]

ORDER ON SUMMONS, FOR MAINTENANCE OF AN INMATE OF AN INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL.

(“The Industrial Schools Act, 1882,” Section 34.)

, the day of , 188 .

UPON proof of the service of the summons issued herein on the day of , 188 , and upon hearing the evidence adduced in support of such service, I do hereby order that , of , in the Colony of New Zealand, , being the of , an inmate of the Industrial School at , shall, as from the day of , 188 , pay to the [Here insert Manager of the said school, or (if the school is a private school) the Clerk of the Resident Magistrate’s Court at ], for the time being, the sum of per week for the maintenance and education of such inmate; such payments to be continued until the day of , 188 , unless such child shall be sooner discharged from the said school, or die before the last-mentioned date.

And I do further order that the said shall pay to the person and in manner before mentioned the sum of £ for the past maintenance of the said inmate; such payment to be made in instalments, and within from the date hereof.

[N.B.—A copy of this order, when made, must be sent by the Clerk of the Court to the Minister of Education.]

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Electric Telegraph Act, 1884,” and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, make the regulation contained in the Schedule hereto in relation to the charges to be made for terminal rates on inter-colonial telegrams; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, doth hereby order and declare that such regula-
