Native Land Purchases Act Amendment Act, 1878,” it is hereby notified that Her Majesty the Queen has relinquished negotiations in respect of the blocks of Native land in the North Island which are more particularly described and mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

MUHUNOA No. 1.

ALL that block or parcel of land in the Otaki District, in the Provincial District of Wellington, known by the name of Muhunoa No. 1, containing by estimation 1,110 acres or thereabouts. Bounded on the North by the Muhunoa No. 3 Block; on the East by the Muhunoa Nos. 2 and 4 Blocks; on the South by the Ohau No. 3 Block; and on the West by the Muhunoa No. 3 Block.

WAHA-O-TE-MARANGAI.

All that block or parcel of land in the Otaki District, in the Provincial District of Wellington, known by the name of Waha-o-te-Marangai, containing by estimation 1,113 acres or thereabouts. Bounded on the North by the Otaki River; on the East by the Wairarapa Block; on the South by the Ngakaroro No. 1A Block; and on the West by the Waopukatea Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks: save and excepting the Waha-o-te-Marangai No. 1A Block, containing 120 acres or thereabouts, now vested in freehold tenure in the Crown.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Notification of the Entry into Negotiations for the Purchase of Native Lands in the North Island.

IN pursuance of the provisions of “The Government Native Land Purchases Act, 1877,” it is hereby notified that negotiations by or on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen have been entered into for the purchase or acquisition of the blocks of Native land in the North Island which are more particularly described and mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

PARAHI RAHI.

ALL that parcel of land in the District of Bay of Islands, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name of Parahirahi, containing by admeasurement 5,097 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the East by lines, 3509, 2116, 405, 570, 5111, 2187, 1780, 2693, 3404, and 3699 links; towards the South by lines 2404 and 6030 links, the Tukuwhenua Stream, and the Waioro Creek; towards the West by lines 5580, 2113, and 1037 links, and the Waioro Creek; and towards the North by the said creek, the Tahone Creek, by lines 1104 and 2890 links, and by the Tuwhakino Block 683, 1182, 2675, 4762, 4710, 1024, 164, 1077, and 3929 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

WAITOMOTOMO No. 3.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 673 acres, more or less, situated in the Mangakahia Survey District, being called or known by the name of Waitomotomo No. 3, No. 4469c. Bounded towards the North by the Waitomotomo No. 1 Block 10658 links, by the Waitomotomo No. 2 Block 3106, 554, and 580 links, by the crossing of the Waitomotomo Stream, by the Waitomotomo Stream aforesaid, by the Waitomotomo No. 2 Block aforesaid 1200 and 3670 links, and by the Waitomotomo No. 1 Block aforesaid 10384 links; towards the East by the Wairua River; towards the South by lines 6639 and 10723 links; and towards the West by the Mangakahia River: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

MAYOR ISLAND OR TUHUA.

Containing by admeasurement 3,154 acres, more or less, situate in the Bay of Plenty, twenty-three miles north of the Tauranga Harbour, and sixteen miles from the nearest part of the coast of the North Island.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
