Defining the Middle Line of a Portion of the Line of Railway from Palmerston North, by way of the Manawatu Gorge, to Woodville. (Portion of Woodville-Ashurst Section.)

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Palmerston North, by way of the Manawatu Gorge, to Woodville is one of the railways specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorization Act, 1885,” and which Act is, in the fifth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the same (portion of Woodville-Ashurst Section):

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section five of “The Railways Authorization Act, 1885,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at or near a point where the boundary-line between Wellington and Hawke’s Bay Provincial Districts intersects the right bank of the Manawatu River, proceeding thence in a general westerly direction for a distance of 3 miles 43 chains or thereabouts, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands: Forest reserve, railway reserve; Rural Sections Nos. 464, 463, 462, Township of Palmerston, respectively; and terminating in a point in Section No. 421, Township of Ashurst; all within the County of Oroua, Provincial District of Wellington; including all intervening places, lands, roads, streams, rivers, and watercourses; in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14238, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington; the total length being 3 miles 43 chains or thereabouts.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Land taken in the Suburbs of Auckland for the Purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway, to take further land in suburbs of Auckland, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

THE several parcels of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.
