A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one hundred and ninety-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land specified in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of sections one hundred and ninety-eight to two hundred and nineteen of Part VII. of “The Land Act, 1885,” relating to small grazing runs.

Defining the Middle Line of a Portion of the North Island Main Trunk Line of Railway from a Point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumaranui, and the Ongaruhē River Valley (Te Kuiti Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the North Island Main Trunk Line of Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumaranui, and the Ongaruhē River Valley, is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Railways Authorization Act, 1884,” and which Act is, in the eighth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same, namely, Te Kuiti Section:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section eight of “The Railways Authorization Act, 1884,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Native lands marked 15 miles, situate near the Mangapu River, which point of commencement is also the point of termination of the Puniu Contract, as set forth in a Proclamation dated the 2nd April, 1885, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 21, of the 9th April, 1885; proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction for a distance of 10 miles 59 chains, more or less; passing through or over Native lands; including all intervening roads, tracks, rivers, streams, watercourses, and places; and terminating at a point in Block III., Otanake Survey District, distant about 105 chains in a north-westerly direction from Trigonometrical Station No. 1643: all in the Provincial District of Auckland; in the manner delineated on a plan marked P.W.D. 14253, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland.

Defining the Middle Line of a Portion of the Line of Railway from Palmerston North, by way of the Manawatu Gorge, to Woodville. (Portion of Woodville-Ashurst Section.)

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Palmerston North, by way of the Manawatu Gorge, to Woodville is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Railways Authorization Act, 1885,” and which Act is, in the fifth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the same, namely, portion of Woodville-Ashurst Section:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section five of “The Railways Authorization Act, 1885,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the northern boundary of Section No. 118, Block IV., Woodville Survey District; the said point being the termination of a portion of the Wellington to Napier Railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 10th August, 1885, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 49, of the 20th August, 1885; proceeding thence in a general westerly direction for a distance of 4 miles 37 chains or thereabouts, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands: Woodville Survey District, Block IV., Sections Nos. 119, 120, 121, 122, 124, 125, railway reserve, and Section No. 1 respectively; Block XII., Section No. 19; railway reserve, Crown lands, ferry reserve, forest reserve, respectively; and terminating in, at, or near a point where the boundary-line between the Wellington and Hawke’s Bay Provincial Districts intersects the right bank of the Manawatu River; all within the County of Waipawa, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay; including all intervening places, lands, roads, streams, rivers, and watercourses; in the manner delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 14237, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Napier, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay; the total length being 4 miles 37 chains or thereabouts.
