Land taken for Roads in Otaki Road District, Provincial District of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under "The Public Works Act, 1882," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of roads in Otaki Road District, Provincial District of Wellington:

And whereas the Otaki Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section eleven of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in anyway enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of roads; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the lands so described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in the inhabitants of the Otaki Road District, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as roads.

Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Line of Railway from Wellington to Napier (Wiwaka Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Wellington to Napier by Woodville is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to "The Public Works Act, 1879," and which Act is, in the seventh section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same, namely, Wiwaka Section:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section seven of "The Public Works Act, 1879," and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and in exercise of every other power and authority in anyway enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Section No. 122, Block XIV., Mangaone Survey District, the said point being the termination of the railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 7th March, 1884, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 33, of the 13th March, 1884; proceeding thence in a northerly direction for a distance of 7 miles 34 chains or thereabouts, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands: Mangaone Survey District—Block XIV., Sections Nos. 122, 124, Crown lands, Section No. 123, and Crown lands respectively; Block X., Crown lands; Block IX., Crown lands, and Sections Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 respectively; Block X., Native Reserve, Cemetery Reserve, and Sections Nos. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 respectively; Block VI., Sections Nos. 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20; and terminating at a point on the left bank of the Makakahi River within the Mangatainoko Block No. 3; all within the Wairarapa East County, Provincial District of Wellington; including all intervening places, roads, streams, rivers, and watercourses, in the manner delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 14202, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington; the total length being 7 miles 34 chains or thereabouts.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of "The Land Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the section of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for application as a village homestead special settlement for perpetual leasing upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.
