Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of a Road and Rail-
way over Lands in the Auckland Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.

I
N pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands
specified in a warrant of the date given in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing by admeasurement 19 acres and 14 perches,
being a road-line 100 links wide and upwards, 2 acres and
81 perches, and 6 acres 3 roods 7 perches, respectively,
being portions of a line of railway, 50 links wide, traversing
the block called or known by the name of the Kaihu No. 2
Block, No. 3509, particulars following, that is to say,—

Road containing 19 acres and 14 perches: Commencing at
a point on the western boundary of the Tunatahi Block at a
distance of 126·5 links or thereabouts to the northward of its
western angle, being the middle of the road above referred
to; and thence continuing north-westerly generally for a
distance of 18066 links or thereabouts to a point on the
Kaihu River: save and excepting two Native cultivations,
containing respectively 32 perches and 2 roods 18 perches,
which intersect the area hereinbefore described at distances
of 2675 and 6876 links respectively from the point of com-
mencement.

Portion of railway containing 2 acres and 81 perches:
Commencing at a point on the western boundary of the
Tunatahi Block aforesaid at a distance of 39 links or there-
abouts to the northward of its western angle, being the
middle of the railway above referred to; and thence con-
tinuing north-westerly generally along the southern side of
the road hereinbefore described for a distance of 4387 links
or thereabouts: save and excepting a Native cultivation, con-
taining 29 perches, which intersects the area hereinbefore
described at a distance of 2670 links or thereabouts from the
commencing-point.

Portion of railway containing 6 acres 3 roods 7 perches:
Commencing at a point on the northern side of the road
hereinbefore described at a distance of 4528 links or there-
abouts from the western boundary of the Tunatahi Block
aforesaid, being the middle of the railway above referred to;
and thence continuing north-westerly generally for a dis-
tance of 13586 links or thereabouts along the northern side
of the road hereinbefore described to the Kaihu River: save
and excepting a Native cultivation, containing 1 rood 9
perches, more or less, which intersects the area above
described at a distance of 2456 links or thereabouts from the
commencing-point.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same
are delineated on Plan No. 4002, deposited in the Survey
Office at Auckland.

in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable

Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this nineteenth day of August, in the

A PROCLAMATION.

W
HEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
land, and application has been made for the removal of such
restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty
days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and
in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the aliena-
tion of the said land.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William

in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the

Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the County of Piako, containing
by admeasurement 45 acres 1 rood 27 perches, more or less,
being part of Section No. 15, Block IX., Te Aroha Survey
District. Bounded towards the North-west by a line, being
the production in a north-easterly direction of the north-
western boundary of Section No. 16 of the said Block IX.,
2300 links; towards the North-east by a line bearing east
51° 15' south, 2271 links; towards the South-east by the pro-
duction of the northern side of Wilson Street, and by that
street, 3841 links; again towards the North-west and towards
the South-west by the said Section No. 16, 1358 links and
1100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan in the Survey Office, Auck-
land.

Native Land taken for Portion of Road, Takaka to Colling-
wood.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day
of August, 1886.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

N pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other
powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency
Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order that the Government work known as the road from
Takaka to Collingwood shall and may be constructed on or
through land held or occupied by Native owners, and that
the parcels of land more particularly described in the Schedule
hereto shall be taken for the said road.
