ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth

day of August, 1886.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

I
N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him in that behalf by "The Licensing Act,
1881," and "The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882," His
Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth
hereby proclaim and define the District of Owen, as described
in the Schedule hereto, to be a special licensing district
under the aforesaid Acts, from and after the nineteenth day
of August instant.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the County of Inangahua bounded towards
the North-east by the County of Waimea, from Mount Owen
to the confluence of the Hope River with the Buller River;
thence towards the South by the latter river to its confluence
with the Owen River; thence towards the West by a line
running due north to the County of Buller; and thence
towards the North-west by the said County of Buller to the
place of commencement.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

Y virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
"The Dangerous Goods Act, 1882," I, William Francis
Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that
the following goods shall be deemed "specially dangerous"
within the meaning of the said Act, namely,---
Dynamite and Lithofracteur, also all light mineral oils the
specific gravity of which is less than 0Β·733 at a temperature
of sixty degrees Fahrenheit, which light mineral oils include
Painters' Spirits, Eupione, Benzine, Gasoline, and Light
Naphtha.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated
the sixth day of February, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-three, making delegation of certain powers
in manner as therein appears, and doth, with the like
advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but only
with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the
Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act afore-
said, except the powers under or conferred by sections five
and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who
shall be known as the Coalgate Public Domain Board,
namely,---

KENNETH WILSON,
ALEXANDER BEATTIE,
JAMES LANGDALE,
GEORGE DAVIDSON, and
WILLIAM WATSON

(herein referred to as " the Board "), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,---

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the last Friday in each month, at seven o'clock p.m., at
    the Coalgate Hotel, or at such other time or place as may
    from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting
    shall be held on Friday, the twenty-seventh day of August,
    one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first
    Monday in December in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
    Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Hororata Survey District, Provincial
District of Canterbury, containing 28 acres 1 rood, more or
less. Boundedβ€”Northward by the White Cliffs Railway
Reserve, 15 chains; Eastward by Reserve No. 1314 (in red),
15 chains; Westward by Section No. 14989, 16 chains 70 links;
and Southward by Section No. 22918, 22 chains 70 links:
and numbered 2409 (in red) on the official map in the Pro-
vincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.
