A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of
"The Land Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the sections of land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are
hereby set apart and declared open for application as a village
special settlement for perpetual leasing on Friday, the third
day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six,
upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council
issued on the second day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-
third section of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
FERN FLAT, MAUNGATANIWHA.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing 1,920 acres, situate in the Maungataniwha
Survey District, Parish of Maungataniwha East. Bounded
on the North by road boundary, Sections Nos. 24 to 13;
towards the North-east by Sections Nos. 95 and 97, Parish of
Kohamariu; towards the East generally by Sections Nos. 42
and 37, Parish of Maungataniwha East; towards the South
by forest reserve; and towards the West by road boundary,
Sections Nos. 33, 30, 29, 25, and 2, Parish of Maungataniwha
East.

Corporations Act, 1876."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876" (herein termed "the said
Act"), the Governor is empowered, by Proclamation, to
declare any district in New Zealand to be a borough under
the said Act from and after a day to be named in such Pro-
clamation: And whereas it has been made to appear that
the several conditions precedent prescribed by the said Act
have been complied with:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district
described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is
hereby constituted a borough under the said Act as from
the day of the date hereof; and, in exercise of the like powers
and authorities, I do hereby declare that the name of such
borough shall be the Borough of Cambridge, and that the
boundaries of such borough shall be those described in the
Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded
towards the North by a road, Section No. 184, a road, Sections
Nos. 195 and 196, a road, Section No. 209, a road, and Section
No. 210; towards the East by Sections Nos. 215 and 216, a
road, Section No. 230, a road, Section No. 335, and the
production of the western boundary-line of that section to
the middle of the Waikato River; towards the South by the
middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern
boundary-line of Section No. 161; and towards the West by
a right line to and by that boundary-line, a road, and Sections
Nos. 1 and 18 to the starting-point: all the above-mentioned
sections being in the Parish of Hautapu; as the same is
delineated on the plans deposited in the Survey Office, Auck-
land.

towards the North-west by the south-eastern boundary of
Lot No. 3 of Subdivision C, Heretaunga Block, from a point
where it is intersected by a line bearing north 39° 35' west
from the north-eastern corner of Lot No. 6 of Subdivision E
to the point where it is intersected by a line bearing north
39° 35' west from the north-western corner of Lot No. 1 of
Subdivision D; towards the North-east by the last-mentioned
line and the south-western boundary of said Lot No. 1 of
Subdivision D to the Karamu Road; again towards the
North-west by the north side of said road; again towards
the North-east by the eastern side of the road which forms
the eastern boundary of Lot No. 3 of Subdivision E and the
western boundary of Lot No. 8 of Subdivision E, and by a
line bearing south 45° 26' east, 69 chains; towards the
South-east by a line bearing south 48° 10' west to the Nga-
ruroro River; towards the South-west by that river to a
point where it is intersected by a line bearing south 49° 42'
east from the western side of Tollemache Road, by that line
and the western side of Tollemache Road and of the road
running from the north end of said Tollemache Road to the
south-eastern boundary of Lot No. 6 of Subdivision E;
again towards the North-west by the said Lot No. 6; and
again towards the South-west by said Lot No. 6 and a line
bearing north 39° 35' west to the point of commencement.
