Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Land withdrawn from the Deferred-payment System in Taranaki.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fourth section of "The Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation: And whereas the lands specified in the Schedule hereto were, with other lands, by Proclamations dated the thirteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, the twenty-sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, the seventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, and the third day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, proclaimed as set apart for sale on deferred payments: And whereas it is expedient to withdraw the said land from the deferred-payment system:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby revoke the Proclamations above referred to, so far as they relate to the sections therein mentioned and included in the Schedule hereto, and do proclaim and declare that the said sections are hereby withdrawn from the operation of the deferred-payment system.

Land set apart for Village Special Settlements for Perpetual Leasing in the Canterbury Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of "The Land Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the sections of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for village special settlements for perpetual leasing, upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the second day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.

Land set apart for a Village Special Settlement for Perpetual Leasing in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of "The Land Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the section of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for application as a village special settlement for perpetual leasing, on Friday, the third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the second day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

VILLAGE SETTLEMENT, HOKIANGA COUNTY.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1,718 acres, more or less, situate in Blocks XV. and XVI., Takahue Survey District. Bounded towards the North-west by the Okakewai Block, 5619 and 300 links; towards the East by a forest reserve, 2650 links; towards the North by the aforesaid forest reserve, 10000 links; again towards the East by the aforesaid forest reserve, 4000 links; towards the South-east by the aforesaid forest reserve, by the crossing of a public road, and again by the aforesaid forest reserve, 19550 links; and towards the West by the aforesaid forest reserve, by a line, by Section No. 8 of Block XV., by the crossing of a public road, and by Section No. 9 of Block XV., 18400 links, to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. To be selected in areas not exceeding 50 acres for each person over seventeen years of age. At a rental of 1s. per acre per annum.
