EAST TAMAKI HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby given that, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and the amendments thereto, the East Tamaki Highway Board propose to take certain lands, hereinafter more particularly described, for the purpose of making public roads. The plan of the proposed works has been deposited for inspection at the residence of Mr. John McGechie, Papatoitoi; and all persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the East Tamaki Highway Board.

SCHEDULE.
ALL those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, situated in the Parish of Pakuranga, in the East Tamaki Highway District, being a portion of Allotment No. 122, commencing at a point on the western boundary 4000 links from the south-western angle. Bounded towards the West by a road-line, 100 links; towards the North by other portions of Allotment No. 122, 3744 links; towards the East by a road, 100 links; and towards the South by other portions of Allotment No. 122 aforesaid, 3744 links. (3 acres 2 roods 29 perches.)
Also a portion of Allotment No. 127, commencing at a point on the western boundary of Allotment No. 127 100 links distant from its south-western angle. Bounded towards the North by other portions of Allotment No. 127, 800 links; towards the North-east by other portions of Allotment No. 127 aforesaid, 141 links; towards the South by a line, 898 links; and towards the West by a road-line, 100 links. Bounded towards the North by other portions of Allotment No. 208, 1192 links; towards the East by a road-line, 1025 links; towards the South by other portions of Allotment No. 208 aforesaid, 1172 links; and towards the West by a road-line, 100 links. THE NEW BRIGHTON TRAMWAY COMPANY (LIMITED).

I HEREBY give notice, in accordance with the provisions of “The Tramways Act, 1872,” that the above company intends to apply to the Government for an order—
Firstly. For power to construct and work, either by horse or mechanical power, a tramway from the termination of the existing tramway at or near the Cemetery Reserve to New Brighton.
Secondly. The proposed works will embrace a line from a point 56 links to the westward and 36 links to the southward of the south-eastern corner of Rural Section 901, or as near thereto as circumstances will admit; thence along the road on the western and northern boundaries of City Council Reserve 212; thence along the same road on the north-western boundary of Rural Section 8188, the Drainage Board Irrigation Reserve, and Rural Sections 8990 and 30217; thence across the road on the south-western boundary of Rural Section 16007 to the said boundary; thence through Rural Sections 16007, 5838, 6755, 9152, 9165, 2155, 1622, 1692, and 6897; thence across a road running between the last-mentioned section and Rural Section 1711; thence through Rural Sections 1711 and 1729 to the River Avon, along a road shown on the plan deposited in the Land Registry at Christchurch aforesaid as No. 806, and thereon marked “Sea View Road:” thence over the River Avon by a bridge; thence along the Sea View Road at New Brighton to a point 6 chains from the sea-beach; and thence by a curve southwards along a road known as George Street.
Thirdly. The names of the districts and other places in which the proposed works will be made are—
I. The Heathcote Road District;
II. The Avon Road District.
Fourthly. On or before Saturday, the 28th day of August, 1886, the deposit required in accordance with subsection (2), section 7, and Part II., Schedule No. 3, of “The Tramways Act, 1872,” will be made at the following places for public inspection:—
I. The office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, Christchurch;
II. The Heathcote Road Board Office;
III. The Avon Road Board Office;
IV. The Public Works Office, Wellington;
V. The office of the company in Duncan’s Buildings, 142, Cashel Street, Christchurch.
Fifthly. The office of the New Brighton Tramway Company (Limited), situate at Duncan’s Buildings, 142, Cashel Street, in the City of Christchurch, and Patterson’s Hotel, situate at New Brighton, are the places at which printed copies of the draft order, when deposited, and of the order, when made, will be obtainable.

NOTICE.—The Partnership hitherto existing between IVAN ALEXANDER SHRIMPTON and ERNEST ALFRED SHRIMPTON, trading as “E. and I. Shrimpton,” Farmers, in Okain’s Bay, Canterbury, is dissolved by mutual consent as and from this date.
