NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of BRENT GOOD, of No. 57, Murray Street, in the City and State of New York, United States of America, Merchant, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz.:

Description of Trade Mark.

The trade mark consists essentially of the representations of leaves and flowers of smartweed and belladonna arranged respectively above and below the words “Smartweed and Belladonna Back Ache Plasters,” which words are combined with the said representations. Above the words quoted is placed the name “Carter’s,” and below them the words “Made Porous;” but said name and words, as well as the words “Do not irritate like capsicum,” and “Have no tin plates on which to claim Electricity,” which are arranged in curves on each side of the word “Plasters,” may be omitted, as they form no part of the essential features of the trade mark. It is not desired to confine to the particular arrangement of the said representations with reference to the said words, as the former may be arranged on the sides instead of above and below. The essential feature of the trade mark consists in the use of said representations in connection with the words first above quoted.

This trade mark is used upon labels which are pasted upon packages containing the plasters, also upon wrappers in which the packages are wrapped.
