NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of BRENT GOOD, of No. 57, Murray Street, in the City and State of New York, United States of America, Merchant, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz.:
Description of Trade Mark.
The trade mark consists essentially of the symbol formed of the word “Iron” and a bar or panel extending horizontally across the same.
This trade mark is arranged within a rectangular border; the word “Iron” in large letters, and the bar or panel lying across the same bears the word “Pills” in smaller letters. Above these, and within the border, is placed the word “Carter’s,” and below them, on the lower side of the space within the border, are the words “For the Blood and Nerves.”
It is not desired to be restricted to this arrangement. The border may be omitted, and the word “Carter’s” and the words “For the Blood and Nerves” may be omitted. The symbol formed of the word “Iron” with the bar or panel across it constitutes the essential feature of the trade mark, and may be arranged otherwise if desired.
This trade mark is used upon labels which are pasted upon packages containing the pills; also upon wrappers in which boxes or packages are wrapped.
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade Mark shall apply.

Description of Trade Mark.
The name “Champion’s,” printed in stencil letters in the form of a semi-oval, and beneath which, in three horizontal lines, are the words “Warranted Genuine White Lead,” each word being printed in stencil letters. The right is claimed to vary the word “White” by substituting therefor the name of any other kind of lead in respect of which the said trade mark may be used, and the right is also claimed to vary the words “White Lead” by substituting therefor the word “Paints” when the said trade mark is used in respect of paints.

VAN HOUTEN AND ZOON, of Weesp, in Holland, Cocoa Manufacturers, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade marks numbered from 1 to 3, of which the following is a description, viz.:
Description o Trade Marks.
No. 1 consists of an oblong label, about the centre of which is the device of an eagle with outstretched wings. In the upper portion of the label is the name “Van Houten’s,” and beneath this name is a ribbon bearing the words “Pure Soluble Cocoa.” Beneath the ribbon are the words “Manufactured by C. J. van Houten & Zoon, Weesp, Holland;” beneath the eagle is an oblong tablet bearing the words “Guaranteed to contain pure soluble cocoa of the finest quality and full weight;” beneath the tablet is the signature “C. J. van Houten & Zoon:” the whole being enclosed within a double-line oblong border. The right is claimed to vary the word “Cocoa,” which appears in two places upon the said trade mark, by substituting therefor the word “Chocolate” when said trade mark is used in respect of chocolate.
No. 2 consists of the device of an eagle with outstretched wings.
No. 3 consists of the special and distinctive words “Eagle Brand.”
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade Marks shall apply.
