Licensing Districts defined.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHERAS by the sixth section of "The Licensing Act,
1881," it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon
as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said
Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time de-
fine districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and
from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of
the same:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in
me by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the
Dargaville Licensing District, which shall, from and after the
first day of February next, be those described in the First
Schedule hereto, and proclaim and define the part of the
colony mentioned and described in the Second Schedule
hereto to be, from and after the said first day of February
next, an ordinary licensing district for the purposes of the
said Act.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
HOBSON COUNTY.
Dargaville Licensing District.โBounded towards the North
by the County of Hokianga; towards the North-west by the
Counties of Hokianga and Bay of Islands; towards the
North-east generally by the County of Whangarei to the
confluence of the Tauraroa and Mangonui Rivers; thence
towards the South generally by the Mangonui River and the
Parish of Arapohue to the Wairoa River; thence towards
the South-west by the Wairoa and Kaihu Rivers.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
HOBSON COUNTY.
Aratapu Licensing District.โBounded towards the North
by a right line passing through Trig. Stations Nos. 119
(Maunganui) and 43 (Tutamoe) from the sea to the Kaihu
River; towards the North-east by the Kaihu and Wairoa
Rivers and the Kaipara Harbour; and towards the South
and South-west by the sea.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twentieth day of January, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six.

Town District of Grey, County of Taireri, constituted.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHERAS by "The Town Districts Act, 1881" (herein-
after called "the said Act"), it is, among other
things, enacted that the inhabitants of any locality not
constituted a borough under "The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1876," wherein there are not less than fifty house-
holders, may apply by petition to the Governor praying that
such locality may be constituted a town district under the
said Act; and that no such locality shall exceed two square
miles in area, and no one point in such area shall be distant
more than four miles from any other point therein, except
in the case of military townships; and that in every such
locality not less than two-thirds of the number of the resi-
dent householders shall concur in any such petition, and
each signature to such petition shall be verified by the
attestation of some respectable witness; and that such
petition shall set forth accurately the boundaries of the
locality to which such petition may refer; and also that,
on the receipt of any such petition, the Governor may, by
Proclamation, declare that the provisions of the said Act
shall come into force within such locality, and that the
same shall be a town district under the said Act; and,
further, that such Proclamation shall accurately define the
boundaries of the district in accordance with the description
contained in the petition, and shall declare the name by
which such district shall thereafter be known:
And whereas a petition has been presented to the
Governor, by the inhabitants of the locality mentioned and
described therein, praying that such locality may be consti-
tuted a town district under the said Act:
And whereas not less than two-thirds of the number of
resident householders in the said locality have concurred in
the said petition, and it is expedient that a Proclamation
should be issued under the said Act for the purposes herein-
after set forth:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
hereinbefore in part recited Act, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the provisions of the said Act shall come into
force within the locality or district mentioned and described
in the Schedule hereto (the same being the locality men-
tioned and set forth in the said petition so presented as
aforesaid), and that the same shall be a town district under
the said Act; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the
said power and authority, I do hereby declare that the said
district shall hereafter be known by the name of "The
Grey Town District," and I do appoint that the Board of
Commissioners for the said district shall consist of five in
number.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the County of Taireri, bounded towards the
North-west by the railway-line to a point in line with the
western boundary of Section No. 1, Irregular Block, Taireri
Survey District; thence towards the North-east by a right
line to and by that section and a road-line; towards the
South-east by Section No. 1 of 31, Block I., and Section
No. 1, Block II., Otokia Survey District; and towards the
South-west by a road-line and Section No. 22, River Sections,
Otokia Survey District.

Declaring State Forests in the Land District of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The New Zealand State Forests
Act, 1885," and of every other power and authority enabling
me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby set apart the forest lands described in the
Schedule hereto, forming part of the Crown lands in New
Zealand, as and for State forests within the provisions of the
said Act.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Land District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement 16,024 acres,
more or less, situate in the Maungataniwha, Kaeo, Oma-
pere, and Maungamuka Survey Districts, and being a forest
reserve. Bounded towards the North-east generally by lines
582, 311, 245, 393, 3921, 3096 links, by the Whakateterikia
Stream, by the Whakateterikia Block 342, 875, 417, 1914,
797, 635, 1061, 665 links, and by the Whakateterikia Stream
aforesaid; towards the South generally by the Mangapu-
kahukahu Stream, by the Mangapukahukahu Block, by lines,
by the Ahutoatoa Block, by lines, by the Omahuta No. 3
Block, and by lines 1605, 708, 2270, 2952, 870, 566, 5218, 1550,
