Appointing Dates for Election of Members and for First
Meeting of Patea Harbour Board.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section nine of "The Patea
Harbour Board Act, 1885," that the Governor shall,
by Proclamation, appoint some day, not exceeding thirty
days after the date of such Proclamation, for the election of
the members of the first Board, and also shall appoint the
day for the first meeting of the Board:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the hereinbefore-recited authority, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the election of the members of the
first Board under the said Act shall be held on Monday, the
eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six; and that the first meeting of the Board shall be
held on Tuesday, the twenty-third day of February, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this fourteenth day of January, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The Licensing Act, 1881," and
"The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882," I, William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby, from and after the first day of
February next, abolish the Licensing Districts of Paparoa,
Arch Hill, Makirikiri, Brunswick, Westmere, Horowhenua,
Kawakawa, and Kowai; and do proclaim and define the
several parts of the colony mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto to be, from and after the said first day of
February next, ordinary licensing districts for the purposes
of the said Acts, and that each such district shall be known
by the name by which it is designated in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
EDEN COUNTY.
Arch Hill Licensing District.—Comprises all that area
known as Arch Hill Road District, as described in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 42, 18th May, 1883.
Eden Terrace Licensing District.—Comprises all that area
known as Eden Terrace Road District, as described in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 42, 18th May, 1883.
MANUKAU COUNTY.
Howick Licensing District.—Comprises all that area known
as Pakuranga, Paparoa, and Howick Township Road Dis-
tricts, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, 18th
May, 1883.
WANGANUI COUNTY.
Makirikiri Licensing District.—Bounded towards the
North-west by a line along the middle of the Wanganui
River to a point in line with the northern boundary of the
Kirikau Block; towards the North by that boundary to the
eastern corner of the said block; thence by a right line to
the summit of Tongariro Mountain; thence towards the
East by right lines from peak to peak to the summit of
Ruapehu Mountain; thence by a right line to Trig. Station
No. 28, Kaimanawa Survey District; thence by Hawke's
Bay County to Trig. Station No. 32; thence towards the
South by a right line to the confluence of the Paremango
and Tamakomako Rivers; thence by the southern boundary
of the Ruanui Block to Te Rere-a-maru; thence by a right
line to the Trig. Station on Maungakaretu; thence towards
the South-east by right lines from hill to hill along the sum-
mit of the eastern watershed of the Wangaehu River to a
line being the production of the north-eastern boundary
line of Block No. 249, Wangaehu Survey District; thence
towards the South-west by that line extended to the middle
of the said Wangaehu River; thence by a line along the
middle of the last-named river to Cook Strait; towards the
South-west by Cook Strait to the mouth of the Wanganui
River; and again towards the North-west and towards the
West by Waitotara County.
WAITOTARA COUNTY.
Waitotara Licensing District.—Bounded towards the
North-west and West generally by the Counties of Patea
and Taranaki, from the ocean to the Wanganui River;
thence towards the North-east and East by a line along the
middle of that river to its mouth; and towards the South-
west by Cook Strait to the place of commencement.
HOROWHENUA COUNTY.
Horowhenua Licensing District.—Comprises all that area
known as the County of Horowhenua, as described in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 133, 19th December, 1884.
MANAWATU COUNTY.
Foxton Licensing District.—Comprises all that area known
as the Town District of Foxton, as established by "The Town
Districts Act, 1881."
Awahou Licensing District.—Comprises all that area
known as the Ridings of Awahou and Kawakawa, as de-
scribed in the New Zealand Gazette No. 63, 28th November,
1876, excluding the Town District of Foxton.
ASHLEY COUNTY.
Kowai Licensing District.—Bounded on the North by the
Waipara Licensing District; on the East by the sea; on the
South by the River Ashley; and on the West by the Ashley
Licensing District: exclusive of the Town District of
Amberley.
Amberley Licensing District. —Comprises all that area
known as the Town District of Amberley, as described in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 112, 10th October, 1884.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licensing Act,
1881," it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon
as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said
Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define
districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from
time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same: And whereas it is expedient to alter and redefine the
boundaries of the District of Waverley:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me
by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the
said district, which shall henceforth be those described in
the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
PATEA COUNTY.
Waverley Licensing District.—All that area in the County
of Patea, bounded towards the North generally by the
County of Taranaki; towards the East generally by the
County of Waitotara; towards the South-west by the ocean;
and towards the West generally by the Patea River.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this sixteenth day of January, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
six.
