ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth
day of July, 1886.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the ninth section of “The
Customs Duties Consolidation Act, 1882,” that the
Governor may, by Order in Council from time to time,
specify the articles on which a drawback of duty paid on
importation into New Zealand may be allowed on exportation
therefrom, and the rate of drawback to be so allowed; and
may alter and cancel any such order, and may approve of
regulations and conditions under which drawbacks may be
allowed:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by
the hereinbefore in part recited Act, doth hereby order and
declare that, on and after the date hereof, there shall be
allowed upon the article specified hereunder a drawback of
duty paid on importation, or on being cleared from the ware-
house, according to the rates specified against such article, as
follows:—

On sugar contained in jam manufactured in New Zealand: For every ton, net weight, of such jam exported .. .. .. .. .. 1 18 10
On sugar contained in preserved fruit manufactured in New Zealand: For every ton, net weight, of such preserved fruit .. .. .. 0 19 5

No drawback shall be paid in respect of any entry made
for the exportation of New Zealand manufactured jam or
preserved fruit unless the quantity exported amounts to or
exceeds 5cwt. net weight.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency
Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order
that the Government work known as the North Island Main
Trunk Line of Railway, from a point at or near Marton to
Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongaruhe
River Valley (portion of Porewa Contract), shall and may
be constructed on or through the parcel of land mentioned
in the Schedule hereto.

Order to take Land for a Portion of the Thames Valley and Rotorua Railway—Section from Putaruru to Rotorua.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of May, 1886.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other
powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir
William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order that the Government work known as the Thames
Valley and Rotorua Railway, having an average width of
three hundred links, shall be constructed on or through all
lands held or occupied by Native owners, as mentioned in
the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on Section No. 1 of the Thames
Valley and Rotorua Railway, the said point being situated
in the Mangakaretu Block No. 1, and about thirty-seven
miles distant from Morrinsville, on said Section No. 1 of said
railway, and passing in, through, or over the following lands,
viz., Mangakaretu Block No. 1, Whakaaratamaiti No. 1,
Whakaaratamaiti No. 2, Whakaaratamaiti No. 3, Whaiti-
Kuranui No. 1A (northern portion), Whaiti-Kuranui No. 1B, Okohiriki No. 2A, Okohiriki No. 2B, Okohiriki No. 2E, Okohiriki No. 2C, Okohiriki No. 2D, Native lands of Ngongataha
not yet passed the Native Lands Court, Native lands of Wai-
kuta not yet passed the Native Lands Court, Native lands of
Kawaha not yet passed the Native Lands Court, Native lands
of Koutu Nos. 1 and 2 not yet passed the Native Lands
Court, the land known as the Government Telegraph
Paddock, the Tarewa Block, lands known as Pukeroa-o-
Ruawhata; the Town of Rotorua, being the reserve between
Omohau Street and PereaiKa Street; PereaiKa Street; Sections Nos. 8, 9, 10, and 11 of the Suburbs of Rotorua: all
within the Counties of Piako and Tauranga, in the Provincial
District of Auckland; including all adjoining and intervening
places, lands, roads, streams, reserves, rivers, and water-
courses; in the manner delineated upon the plan marked
P.W.D. 13720, deposited in the office of the Minister for
Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, the total length being about thirty-two miles.

Appointment of French Vice-Consul recognized.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 10th July, 1886.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified
that he has been informed by Her Majesty’s Principal
Secretary of State for the Colonies that the Queen’s exequatur,
empowering

Viscount ALEXANDRE LOUIS FERDINAND DE JOUFFROY
D’ABBANS

to act as French Vice-Consul at Wellington, received Her
Majesty’s signature on the 10th May last, and that the notification of Her Majesty’s approval of this appointment appeared in the London Gazette of the 11th May last.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 10th July, 1886.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified
that he has been informed by Her Majesty’s Principal
Secretary of State for the Colonies that the Queen’s exequatur,
empowering

Dr. GUSTAVE TRAVERS

to act as His Imperial German Majesty’s Consul-General at
Sydney for all the Australasian Colonies, received Her
Majesty’s signature on the 8th March last, and that the
notification of Her Majesty’s approval of this appointment
appeared in the London Gazette of the 9th March last.
