Proclaiming Land taken for a Public Road in the Marl-
borough Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in me
by the thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I,
William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is a public road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Cloudy Bay Survey
District, Provincial District of Marlborough, containing by
admeasurement 3 acres and 10 perches, more or less ; com-
mencing at the south-west corner of Section No. 18, District
of Wairau West. Bounded generally Northerly by lines
bearing 292° 6', 100 links, 260° 41' 24", 170·5 links, 269° 39' 8",
270 links, 287° 28' 8", 383 links, and 304° 30' 33", 997·9 links
respectively ; thence South-westerly and Southerly in an
irregular line by a road fronting Section No. 20, District of
Wairau West aforesaid ; and thence South-easterly by a line
bearing 52° 34' 34", 103·2 links, to the starting-point : be all
the aforesaid linkages a little more or less ; as the same is
more particularly delineated on Road Plan No. 10, deposited
in the District Survey Office, Blenheim.

in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-

Declaring State Forests in the Land District of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by “The New Zealand State Forests
Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling
me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby set apart the forest lands described in the
Schedule hereto, forming part of the Crown lands in New
Zealand, as and for a State forest within the provisions of
the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 1,685 acres, more or less, situate in the Parish of Wha-
gamarino, Maramarua and Rangiriri Survey Districts,
Provincial District of Auckland, commencing at the south-
eastern angle of Section No. 221 of the Parish of Whanga-
marino aforesaid. Bounded towards the North-west gene-
rally by that section and by Section No. 389 of the same
parish to the Great South Road; towards the North-east by the
Great South Road aforesaid and by the crossing of that road ;
again towards the North-west by the road which forms the
south-eastern boundary of Sections Nos. 160 and 159, Parish
of Whangamarino, and the crossing of the Kaipara-Punui
Railway; towards the North generally by the road which
forms the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 342, 343, 344,
345, 346, 347, 348, and 349, Parish of Whangamarino, and by
that road continued to the northernmost angle of Section
No. 230 of the said parish ; towards the South-east generally
by the last-named section and the shore of Waikare Lake to
the termination of a right line drawn due north from the
northernmost angle of Section No. 296 of the aforesaid
parish ; thence by that line and the north-western boundary
of Section No. 296 aforesaid ; towards the South-west by
the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 146 of the same

parish ; towards the South generally by the northern boundary
of the last-named section and by the shore of Karaka Lake
to its intersection with a right line drawn due east from the
northernmost angle of Section No. 266 of the Parish of
Whangamarino ; thence by that line, by the crossing of the
Great South Road, and again by the line last mentioned to
its intersection with a right line drawn due south from the
south-eastern angle of Section No. 221 of the Parish of Wha-
gamarino aforesaid ; and towards the West by that line to
the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less.

1883.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
land, and application has been made for the removal of such
restrictions :
It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor in Council, immediately after the expira-
tion of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the
Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on
the alienation of the said land.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William

in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
