A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may at any time, upon the petition of the Mayor and Council of a borough, by a Proclamation publicly notified, alter the boundaries of such borough so as to include therein any part of the foreshore or any land reclaimed from the sea adjacent to such borough: And whereas a petition has been presented to me by the Mayor and Councillors of the Borough of Port Chalmers praying me, amongst other things, to alter the boundaries of the said borough so as to include therein the piece of land described in the First Schedule hereto, comprising part of the foreshore of the Otago Harbour, and land reclaimed from the said harbour adjacent to the said borough:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said borough are hereby altered so as to include within the limits of the said borough the land described in the First Schedule hereto, the said land being added to the High Ward of the said borough, and that the said borough and the said High Ward shall henceforth be bounded as specified in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND TO BE ADDED TO THE BOROUGH OF PORT CHALMERS.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago, being part of Koputai Bay, bounded towards the North-east by a right line from high-water mark of Otago Harbour, 750 links; thence towards the South-east by a right line, 1800 links; thence again towards the North-east by a right line, about 480 links, to the George Street Pier; thence again towards the South-east by the said George Street Pier and a line being the production of the north-western side thereof to the original high-water mark of Otago Harbour; and thence towards the South-west and North-west generally by the original high-water mark of Otago Harbour to the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF PORT CHALMERS.—EXTENDED BOUNDARIES.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago bounded towards the South-west by Section No. 62, Sawyer’s Bay Survey District; towards the North-west by Lower Harbour West Survey District to Carey’s Bay; thence towards the North-east by high-water mark of Otago Harbour to the northernmost point of the area Crown-granted to the Superintendent of Otago, 7th April, 1862; thence by a right line, 750 links; thence towards the South-east by a right line, 1800 links; thence again towards the North-east by a right line, about 480 links, to the George Street Pier; thence again towards the South-east by the said George Street Pier to Beach Street; thence again towards the North-east, North-west, and towards the East by the north-eastern, north-western, and eastern sides respectively of the said Beach Street, which is 100 links wide, to the southernmost corner of the said area Crown-granted to the Superintendent of Otago, 7th April, 1862; and thence again towards the South-east, North-west, and South-west generally by high-water mark of Otago Harbour and of Mussel Bay.
HIGH WARD (AMENDED).
High Ward is bounded towards the South-west by Section No. 62, Sawyer’s Bay Survey District; towards the North-west by Lower Harbour West Survey District to Carey’s Bay; thence towards the North-east by high-water mark of Otago Harbour to the northernmost point of the area Crown-granted to the Superintendent of Otago, 7th April, 1862; thence by a right line, 750 links; thence towards the South-east by a right line, 1800 links; thence again towards the North-east by a right line, about 480 links, to the George Street Pier; thence again towards the South-east by the said George Street Pier to Beach Street; thence by a line being the production of the north-western side of the said George Street Pier to a point in line with the middle of Grey Street; thence by a line to and along the middle of the said Grey Street to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Section No. 17, Town of Port Chalmers; thence towards the South by a line to the south-eastern corner of that section; thence by Section No. 19, Town of Port Chalmers aforesaid; thence towards the South-east generally by the said Section No. 19, and Sections Nos. 20 and 21 respectively, Town of Port Chalmers aforesaid, and by the south-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to the middle of Currie Street; thence by a line along the middle of the said Currie Street to a point in line with the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 162; thence by a line to and by the said Section No. 162, and Sections Nos. 164, 165, 166, 167, 181, 180, 179, 178, and 177 respectively, and by the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to high-water mark of Mussel Bay; and thence towards the South-west, and again towards the South-east by high-water mark of Mussel Bay.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands specified under warrants of the dates given in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood 16 perches, more or less, situate in the Kumeu Survey District, and being a road-line, 100 links wide, traversing the Kahukuri Block, No. 1292; commencing at a point on the northern boundary of the aforesaid block at a distance of 3141·8 links or thereabouts from its north-eastern angle, being the width of the road above referred to; and thence continuing southerly and easterly generally for a distance of 5350 links or thereabouts to a point on the north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid block at a distance of 3523 links or thereabouts from its north-eastern angle: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on Plan No. 3909, deposited in the Survey Office at Auckland.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 28 perches, more or less, situate in the Kumeu Survey District, and being a road, 100 links wide, traversing the Ihumatao Block No. 2, No. 1208; commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of the aforesaid block at a distance of 3027·2 links or thereabouts from its north-western angle, being the middle of the road above referred to; and thence continuing easterly and north-easterly generally for a distance of 3450 links or thereabouts to a point on the north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid block at a distance of 1645 links or thereabouts from its north-eastern angle: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on Plan No. 3909, deposited in the Survey Office at Auckland.
Date of Governor’s warrant, 14th December, 1883.
