Boundaries of the Borough of the City of Auckland
extended.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the
Governor may at any time, upon the petition of the Mayor
and Council of a borough, by a Proclamation publicly
notified, alter the boundaries of such borough so as to
include therein any land reclaimed from the sea adjacent
to such borough: And whereas a petition has been pre-
sented to me by the Mayor and Councillors of the Borough
of the City of Auckland, praying me, amongst other things,
to alter the boundaries of the said borough so as to include
therein the piece of land described in the First Schedule
hereto, being land reclaimed from the Waitemata Harbour
adjacent to the said borough:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the
said borough are hereby altered so as to include within the
limits of the said borough the land described in the First
Schedule hereto, the said land being added to the East
Ward of the said borough; and that the said borough shall
henceforth be bounded as specified in the Second Schedule
hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

ADDITIONS TO THE BOROUGH OF AUCKLAND.

All that parcel of land bounded towards the North by the
Waitemata Harbour, 1185 links; towards the East by the
boundary-lines of the Borough of Auckland, 318, 300, and
149 links; towards the South by a line, 1354 links; towards
the West by Queen Street, 599 links; again towards the
South by a line, 225 links; and again towards the West by a
line, 90 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
Also all that other parcel of land bounded towards the
West, North, and East by the Waitemata Harbour, 758, 852,
and 1171 links respectively; and towards the South generally
by the boundary-lines of the Borough of Auckland, 891, 140,
and 60 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

BOROUGH OF AUCKLAND.

All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland
bounded as follows: Commencing in the middle of Franklin
Street at the original high-water mark of Freeman's Bay ;
thence bounded towards the West by lines, 50 and 300 links;
towards the North by lines, 1225, 700, 270, 4300, 1735, 82,
250, 758, 852, 1171, 1059, and 1800 links; towards the East
by a line, 1500 links, to the Strand; thence by the Strand,
50 links; thence to and by Suburban Section No. 96; thence
by a line to and by the east side of Stanley Street to the
Government Domain, by the Government Domain and the
Hospital Reserve to the road known as Park Road; thence
by the northern side of said road to a point in line with the
eastern boundary-line of Allotment No. 22 of Section No. 3
of the Suburbs of Auckland; thence by a right line to and
by said boundary-line and by its production to the south side
of Carlton Gore Road; thence by that side of said road to
the western boundary-line of subdivisional Lot No. 37 of
original Allotment No. 4 of Section No. 3 of the Suburbs of
Auckland; thence by Lot No. 37 aforesaid, and by Lots Nos.
55, 56, 65, 66, 75, 76, 85, 86, 95, 96, 105, 106, 115, 116, and
13, all of the original Allotment No. 4 of said Section No. 3
of the Suburbs of Auckland, and by the western boundary-
line of Allotment No. 13, before mentioned, produced to the
southern side of Kyber Pass Road; thence by said road to
the eastern side of the road leading to the Mount Eden
Stockade; generally towards the South-east by the said side
of said road to its junction with the Mount Eden Road;
thence by the southern side of that road to Symonds Street;
thence by a line to and by Basque Road and by Sections
Nos. 4 and 13 to the Great North Road; towards the West by
the said road to Ponsonby Road; thence towards the South
by a line to and by Sections Nos. 36, 35, 34, 40, 41, and
43 to the left bank of Cox's Creek, and by the left bank of
that creek to Waitemata Harbour; again towards the West,
towards the North-west, and towards the North-east by high-
water mark of Waitemata Harbour to the point of com-
mencement: as the same is delineated on the plans in the
Survey Office, Auckland.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this twelfth day of July, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
six.
