NOTICE is hereby given that EMANUEL HENRY GOLDSMITH, of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand, Agent, has applied, on behalf of WINFIELD ATTENBOROUGH, Attorney under power for Dr. J. G. B. SIEGERT, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz.:—

Description of Trade Mark.

An oblong label, printed in black on white paper, containing a description in Spanish, English, French, and German of the uses and qualities of the bitters, and how and in what quantity they are to be taken in particular cases. Between the English and Spanish descriptions a blank space of about one inch wide is left. On this appears, in manuscript, the following signature, viz.: “Doctor J. G. B. Siegert”; and on either hand of the signature a representation in reverse and obverse of the Vienna Exhibition Medal (1873). The three parallel columns of description in Spanish, English, and German are surrounded by a fancy border. Beneath these columns, and running horizontally, is the description in French, similar to the others. The wrapper bears, on a peculiar flap running up the side of the bottle, the following description in English: “For the better guarantee of the genuineness of these Bitters each box will contain a printed circular of the firm, Dr. J. G. B. Siegert and hijos, with our signatures, of what please take note.” This inscription is repeated on the flap in Spanish, German, and French.
