NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. J. KITCHEN AND SONS’ MANUFACTURING COMPANY, LIMITED, of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand, have applied to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz.:
Description of Trade Mark.
A round label, three inches in diameter, painted on green-tinted paper, worded as follows: “Exhibition Candles” in half circles; in the centre the Queen’s head, with the words “Royal Brand” above, and “Trade Mark” below; on either side are the words “Awarded special gold medal.”

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of THOMAS HUBBUCK AND SON, of No. 24, Lime Street, in the City of London, in England, Paint and Oil Manufacturers, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade marks numbered from 1 to 5, of which the following is a description, viz.:
Description of Trade Marks.
No. 1 consists of the name “Hubbuck.”
No. 2 consists of the special and distinctive words “The Sailor Brand.”
No. 3 consists of the representation of the bust of a sailor.
No. 4 consists of the words “Hubbuck’s Patent, London,” printed in a circle, within which is the representation of the Royal coat-of-arms, and beneath it the words “White Zinc.”
No. 5 is a circular mark, and consists of an annular space bearing the words “Hubbuck’s Boiled Oil,” and across the centre of this is the word “Pale.”
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade Marks shall apply.
As to Nos. 1, 2, and 3, each in respect of chemical substances used in manufactures, photography, or philosophical research, and anticorrosives; raw or partly-prepared vegetable, animal, and mineral substances used in manufactures; candles, common soap, detergents; illuminating, heating, or lubricating oils; lamp-wicks, matches; and starch, blue, and other preparations for laundry purposes; painters’ and other brushes, brooms, mops, patent filling-up, putty, mastic cement, packing, glass cloth; emery, glass, and sand paper; emery, blacklead for polishing and lubricating purposes, scouring-bricks, holy-stones, pumice, rubbing-down powder, French chalk, rotten-stone, silver sand, twine, thrums, coal-baskets, and rope.
As to No. 4, in respect of paints.
As to No. 5, in respect of oils.

Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.
CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely:—
Port of Auckland.
A brick building, with slate roof, situate on portion of Section No. 2, Allotments Nos. 44 and 45, Fort Street, City of Auckland, to be known as
HANCOCK’S BOND.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Charges in force on the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with section 144 of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” I, Edward Richardson, the Minister for Public Works, do hereby make the following alterations and additions to the scale of charges, to come into force on and after the 5th day of July, 1886:—
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
Picton Section.
Goods of Classes A, B, C, D, booked through between Blenheim or other stations on the Blenheim–Picton Railway and the Ports of Wellington or Nelson, consigned by Anchor Steamship Company’s boats, the s.s. “Lyttelton,” or by other steamship companies making suitable arrangements with the Government for through booking, will be charged 15s. per ton, weight or measurement, according to ship’s bill of lading.
Ships’ goods of Classes A, B, C, D, from Picton will be charged as Class B. Maximum charge, including wharfage, loading and unloading, 7s. 6d. per ton, weight or measurement, according to ship’s bill of lading.
All other goods of Classes A, B, C, D, will be charged as Class A.
Goods of Class E consigned direct to ships for shipment will be charged 4s. 6d. a ton, including all charges. At Tua Marina and Spring Creek Stations, on goods of Class E preceding, no storage will be charged for the first four weeks, after which 1d. per ton per week will be charged. The department does not guarantee storage room.
Class F.—Hay, &c.
The maximum rate on goods of Class F consigned direct to ship at Picton for shipment will be 15s. per truck, including wharfage and unloading.
Class H.—Wool.
Wool consigned from Blenheim to ship at Picton will be charged 1s. per bale for undumped, and 1s. 9d. per bale for double-dumped, including all charges.
Class K.—Timber.
Minimum rates for distances not exceeding four miles, 8d. per 100 superficial feet; over four miles, 9d. per 100 superficial feet.
