the capital to an extent not exceeding £50,000.
Or, if such a course is found desirable, by forming a new
company in England to purchase the assets of the present
company, the capital of the new company not to exceed
£60,000, in 60,000 shares of £1 each, the present company
receiving 10,000 £1 fully paid-up shares, and the sum of
£5,000 in cash, in full payment of the said assets of the com-
pany, the number of contributing shares in the new company
not to exceed 60,000 of £1 each.

    are affixed to the said statement, are Directors of the said
    company.

    General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The Justices

COUNTY ROAD, MATAURA, DECLARED.

I HEREBY give notice that, in pursuance of the powers
granted by "The Public Works Act, 1882," the South-
land County Council, by resolution passed on the 14th May,
1886, declared the following road to be a county road within
the meaning of the said Act, namely:—
The road from main road at railway crossing, Mataura
Township, across the bridge to Kana Street (main road Ma-
taura to Fortrose).

THE RAKAIA AND ASHBURTON FORKS RAILWAY
COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that, at an extraordinary general
meeting of the Rakaia and Ashburton Forks Railway
Company (Limited), duly convened and held at the offices of
the said company, 173, Hereford Street, Christchurch, on
the twenty-first day of January, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-six, the subjoined special resolution was duly
passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting
of the said company, also duly convened and held at the
same place on the eleventh day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-six, the subjoined special resolution
was duly confirmed:—
"That the Rakaia and Ashburton Forks Railway Company
(Limited) be wound up voluntarily; and that James Hender-
son, of Christchurch, be, and is hereby, appointed Liquidator
for the purposes of such winding up."

GISBORNE HARBOUR BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Harbour Board to execute a public work by making a
tramway, and for that purpose to take from Kaiti and Papa-
whariki Blocks, situated in Block No. VII., Turanganui
Survey District, and the Island of Tuamotu, the land de-
scribed in the accompanying Schedule.
The works to be executed on this land are a tramway and
quarry, for the purpose of obtaining stone required in the
construction of a breakwater.
Plans of the land proposed to be taken may be seen at the
office of the Board, Lowe Street, Gisborne.
Any persons having any objection to the proposed works
are required to state their objections in writing, and send
them to the office of the Board on or before Tuesday, the
6th July, 1886.

JOHN STUART REID as Attorney for the United In-
surance Company in New Zealand, under and for the pur-

HOSPITAL AND DOMAIN LANDS EXCHANGE,
AUCKLAND.

NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to
be made, by petition, to the General Assembly, at the
present session thereof, for a Bill to confirm and carry out
an agreement, made on the day of , 18 ,
between the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland,
Trustee of the Hospital lands, and Francis Dart Fenton, on
behalf of the Domain Board, for the exchange of land in the
said agreement described. Copies of the said Bill will be
immediately deposited in the Private Bills Office.
