ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of
June, 1886.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves
Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserves made
for public recreation in the Provincial District of Auckland,
and known as the Whaingaroa Recreation-ground and
Thermal-springs, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall
be and the same are hereby brought under the operation of
and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public
Domains Act, 1881;” and such domain shall hereafter be
managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed
by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 226 acres and 5 perches, more or less, situate in the
Survey District of Newcastle, Provincial District of Auck-
land, being Section No. 86 of the Parish of Waipa. Bounded
towards the North by a line, 6000 links; towards the East
by a line, 3980 links; towards the South by a line 3357 links,
by the crossing of a road 115 links, by a road 709 links, 349
links, 343 links, 503 links, and 609 links, and by a line 560
links; towards the West by a line, 3186 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less; saving and excepting a
public road, 100 links wide, which intersects the block, and
containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 38 perches,
more or less.

Powers delegated to the Whaingaroa Highway Board under
“The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of
June, 1886.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by the twelfth section of “The Public
Domains Act, 1881,” it is, inter alia, enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred,
save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for
any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be
specified in such order, and that every such delegation may
from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas, pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,”
by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land
described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought
under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of
the said “Public Domains Act, 1881:”

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate
all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned,
except the powers under or conferred by sections five and
twelve, to

The Whaingaroa Highway Board,

which shall be known as the Whaingaroa Domain Board
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,–

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the fourth Wednesday in each month, at two o’clock p.m.,
    at the Road Board offices, Waitetuna, or at such other time
    or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.
    The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the twenty-
    third day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the fourth
    Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chair-
    man.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Vesting a Reserve in the Manawatu and West Coast Agri-
cultural and Pastoral Society (Incorporated).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of
June, 1886.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was reserved for a site for an agricultural and
pastoral society’s show-ground: And whereas, in the opinion
of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the
Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Society
(Incorporated):

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section
of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare
that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said
reserve shall become vested in the Manawatu and West
Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Society (Incorporated), in
trust, for a site for an agricultural and pastoral show-ground.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, situate in the Manawatu District, being the Suburban
Sections Nos. 307 and 308 on the plan of the Township of
Palmerston, in the said district, containing by admeasure-
ment 9 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded on the North-
east by Section No. 306, 950 links; on the South-east by a
public road, 1000 links; on the South-west by Section No.
309, 950 links; and towards the North-west by Sections Nos.
295 and 296, 1000 links.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by
“The Cemeteries Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” and
of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His
Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby delegate to the Council of the County
of Vincent the powers conferred upon him by section six of
“The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” as to the appointment and
