A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zealand, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such land, and application has been made for the removal of such restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excellency the Governor in Council, immediately after the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the alienation of the said land.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Extending Close Season for Seals.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of June, 1886.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, among other things, enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time make, alter, and revoke regulations for the purposes therein mentioned, which said regulations shall have force and effect only in any waters or places specified therein:

And whereas by Order in Council dated the twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, certain regulations were made, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, prescribing a close season for seals, and extending such close season until the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six:

And whereas it is expedient to further extend such close season:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said Act, and by and with the consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby make the following regulation:—

The close season for seals in the Colony of New Zealand, prescribed and extended by the regulations made under the said Act by Order in Council bearing date the twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, is hereby further extended until the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Addition to Hamilton Recreation-ground brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of June, 1886.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Provincial District of Auckland, and known as the Hamilton (Lake Rotoiti) Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881;” and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act, by the Domain Board, constituted by an Order in Council issued on the twentieth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that section containing by admeasurement 141 acres, more or less, being the Hamilton Lake, and known as Section No. 372 of the Parish of Te Rapa, Hamilton Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland. Bounded towards towards the North by a public road; towards the East generally by a public road and Sections Nos. 210 and 370 of
