A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-fourth section of “The Sheep Act, 1878,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the place mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be a place at which sheep to be introduced by land into the sheep districts in the said Schedule mentioned shall be crossed over the boundaries of such districts, in addition to the crossing-place proclaimed by a Proclamation dated the twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

NELSON AND CANTERBURY SHEEP DISTRICTS.

At the Bridge across the Grey River, at Greymouth.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Line of Railway from Invercargill to Kingston (Portion of Lumsden–Mararoa Branch, Mossburn Contract).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Invercargill to Kingston (Lake Wakatipu) passing by Winton, Lumsden, and Athol, with a branch from Lumsden to the Mararoa River, is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and which Act is, in the seventh section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section seven of “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point being the 6-mile-peg of the Lumsden–Mararoa Branch of the Invercargill–Kingston Railway, situate in Section No. 35, Taringatura District, about 488 links distant from eastern boundary of said section; proceeding thence in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 4 miles 40 chains or thereabouts, and passing into, through, or over the following lands, viz., Sections Nos. 35, 45, 16, and 102, Taringatura District, and terminating at the 10-mile 40-chain peg on said branch, situate in said Section No. 102, Taringatura District, and distant about 39 chains from western and 38 chains from southern boundary of said section; including all intervening and adjoining places, roads, reserves, streams, and watercourses: all within the Wallace County, Provincial District of Otago; in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 13830, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Invercargill, in the said Provincial District; the total length being 4 miles 40 chains or thereabouts.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the North Island Main Trunk Line of Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongaruke Valley (portion of Puniu Contract):

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.
