REGULATIONS.

EACH of the Boards of the united districts specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto (hereinafter termed “the said Boards”) shall be known by the corporate name respectively set opposite the name of each such united district in the second column of the said Schedule.

Each of the said Boards shall set apart and keep a separate fund, to be called “The Charitable-aid Fund,” into which shall be paid all moneys that may come to the hands of the Board for the purposes of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”). The account in connection with such fund shall be operated upon in the manner provided by section 20 of the said Act with respect to the account therein mentioned.

Subject to the provisions of the said Act and for the purposes of charitable aid, each of the said Boards may, within the district assigned to it, from time to time declare what local authorities shall be liable to contribute to or afford charitable aid in such district, and may appoint the proportion of contribution to be made by each such local authority respectively and the time for the payment thereof; and in the event of non-payment may sue for and recover the amount of any such contribution in the manner by the said Act provided with respect to contributions in arrear by local bodies. Any such declaration and appointment as aforesaid may be made either separately by the said Boards or conjointly with any similar declaration and appointment made by a District Board or other body with respect to the maintenance of any hospital or other institution within the district.

Each of the Boards constituted under sections 7, 8, and 34 of the said Act may pay out of the fund of the district the expenses of locomotion of any of its members incurred in going to or returning from a duly-summoned meeting of such Board, or in making an official visit either in accordance with the rules of the Board, or, at the request of the Board, to any institution under its control or management, or with which it has any connection under the said Act. Each of the said Boards may also pay out of the said fund such other general expenses and salaries as may be necessary for carrying out the functions of each such Board.

If the member of any Board shall, in any manner, have vacated his seat on such Board before the date of the yearly election, the Council of the borough or county by which such member was elected may elect a member to fill the vacancy, and such member shall hold office until the next yearly election.

Every contributory local authority may, upon the incorporation of any institution as a separate institution having been effected, proceed at once to elect a Trustee, or to participate in the election of a Trustee, of such separate institution, in the manner provided by section 47 of the said Act.

Fixing Shooting Season for Native Game, Kaikoura District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed in the Kaikoura District, comprising the Counties of Amuri and Kaikoura, from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Fixing Shooting Season for Native and Imported Game, License-fee, &c., Otago District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that hare and Californian quail may be taken or killed within the Otago District—being all that area in the Provincial District of Otago bounded on the East and South by the ocean from Shag Point to the mouth of the Mataura River; on the West, South-west, and South by the Mataura River and the Counties of Southland and Wallace; on the North-west by the ocean; and on the North, North-west, and North-east by the Counties of Westland and Waitaki: excepting therefrom the County of Lake—from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Dunedin is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis, bittern, white herons, and crested grebe) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants, Californian quail, and Australian quail may be taken or killed within the Auckland District, consisting of the Auckland Provincial District, excepting the Counties of Cook, Tauranga, Whakatane, East Taupo, and Wairoa, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of thirty shillings each; and the Chief Postmaster at Auckland is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants and Californian and Australian quail may be taken or killed within the Tauranga District, consisting of the County of Tauranga, and so much of the Counties of East Taupo and Whakatane as lies to the north of the Rangitaiki River, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of
