Land taken for Further Portion of Kawakawa Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for further portion of the
Kawakawa Railway:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to
be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land
in the manner hereby provided have been observed and per-
formed:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred
and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every
other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land men-
tioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion
of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

thereon coloured red.

in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-

Defining the Middle Line of the Branch Line of Railway
from the Main Line of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway
at or near Huntly to a Point in the Auckland University
College Reserve fronting Lake Kimihia, Parish of Tau-
piri.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the branch line of railway from the main
line of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway at or near
Huntly to a point in the Auckland University College
Reserve fronting Lake Kimihia, Parish of Taupiri, is one of
the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Rail-
ways Authorization Act, 1885,” and which Act is, in the fifth
section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the
construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished,
and it has been determined to construct and maintain the
same:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by
the aforesaid section five of “The Railways Authorization
Act, 1885,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine
and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act,
1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in
anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the middle line of the said railway shall be as
defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
Commencing at a point in Section No. 15, Parish of Taupiri,
Survey District of Rangiriri, in the County of Waikato,
distant about 62½ miles south of Auckland, on the Auck-
land-Waikato Railway-line; proceeding thence generally in
a south-easterly and north-easterly direction, skirting the
Kimihia Lake, for a distance of 2 miles 19 chains or there-
abouts; passing in, through, over, or into the following
lands: Section No. 15, public road, Sections Nos. 12, 11,
6, public road, Sections No. 5 and No. 463A, and through
the University College lands, in the parish, district, and
county aforesaid, terminating on one of the eastern penin-
sulas of Lake Kimihia. The said middle line and the land
through which it passes are set forth in the map and
plans marked P.W.D. 13638, deposited in the office of the
Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Auckland, in the Pro-
vincial District of Auckland.

Proclamation bringing into force “The Otago Dock Act
1883 Amendment Act, 1885.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Otago Dock Act 1883 Amendment
Act, 1885” (hereinafter called the “said Act”), it is
provided that the said Act shall come into force on such a
day, not earlier than the first day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-six, as may be fixed by Proclama-
tion by the Governor to that effect; provided that no such
Proclamation shall be issued in case the Governor in Council
is satisfied that, at any time previous to such day, valid con-
tracts have been executed by the Otago Harbour Board for the
commencement and the proper continuance of the work of
constructing a dock as required by “The Otago Dock Act,
1883:” And whereas the Governor of New Zealand, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, is
satisfied that, immediately prior to the date of this Proclama-
tion, valid contracts have not been executed by the Otago
Harbour Board for the purposes in the hereinbefore recited
Act mentioned: And whereas it is expedient that the said
Act should come into force on the date hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me
by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
said Act shall come into force on the day of the date hereof.
