Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Nelson.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The Special Powers and Con-
tracts Act, 1884," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby change
the purpose from a reserve for a cemetery to a recreation-
ground of all that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Nelson, situate in the District of Waimea South, containing
four acres two roods, be the same more or less, being part
of Section number eighty-five on the plan of the said district.
Bounded on the North-eastward by Section number eighty-
four on the said plan; on the South-eastward by a public
road; on the South-westward by other part of said Section
number eighty-five; and on the North-westward by other
part of the same section.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-five.

Authorizing Sale of Reserve No. 1054, Canterbury.

BY virtue of the power and authority contained in "The
Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1884," I, William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Commissioner of
Crown Lands at Christchurch to sell by public auction, in
allotments as surveyed, after three months' notice duly
advertised in the local newspapers, Reserve number ten
hundred and fifty-four, in the Christchurch District.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-five.

tracts Act, 1884," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby change
the purpose from a reserve for a site for wharves to a site for
an athenæum of all that parcel of land in the Provincial
District of Canterbury, containing two acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the North-east by Rural Section number
eight hundred and twenty-seven, four hundred and sixty
links; towards the North-west by the road reserved along the
south-eastern side of the Okain's Creek, six hundred and
forty links; towards the South-east by the road-line south-
east of Reserve number one hundred and fifty (in red), six
hundred and twenty-five links; and towards the South-west
by a line at right angles to the south-east boundary, two
hundred and twenty links.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-five.

ground of all that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, being all that portion of Reserve number two
thousand and twenty-eight (in red), in the Alford Survey
District, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing eighty-
nine acres two roods, more or less, being part of Reserve
number two thousand and twenty-eight (in red). Bounded
—North-eastward by Section number seventeen thousand
seven hundred and seventy-two one thousand five hundred
and thirty-eight links, also by a line bearing one hundred
and forty degrees sixteen minutes thirty seconds six hundred
and fifty links; towards the North-westward by Section
number thirty-four thousand and forty-eight two thousand four
hundred and seventy-two links, by a line bearing fifty degrees
sixteen minutes thirty seconds one thousand five hundred
and forty-one links, also by Section number seventeen thou-
sand seven hundred and seventy-two five hundred links;
towards the South-east by Section number seventeen thou-
sand seven hundred and seventy-three six hundred and
eighty-six links, and by Section number twenty-six thou-
sand nine hundred and sixty-two three thousand five hundred
and nineteen links; and South-westward by the River Ash-
burton: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; and
numbered two thousand six hundred and thirty-nine (in red)
on the official map in the Survey Office, Christchurch.

one thousand five hundred and thirty-three links; Eastward
by Reserve number two thousand six hundred and twelve (in
red); Southward by Rural Section number three thousand
and thirty-one two thousand seven hundred and twenty
links, and also by a road-line four hundred and eighty-six
links; and Westward by a line parallel to eastern boundary,
one thousand one hundred and twenty-three links: and
numbered two thousand six hundred and thirteen (in red)
on the official map in the Survey Office, Christchurch.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-five.

Vesting a Reserve in the Borough of Patea.

WHEREAS by section thirty-eight of "The Land Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1884," it is provided that the
reserves to be made for any borough or town district under
such section shall be made only in cases where no such
reserves for the purpose of sections three, five, and six of
"The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875," exist therein,
or, if existing, do not equal or exceed the amount of reserves
authorized to be made under such last-mentioned Act:

And whereas the existing reserves for the Borough of
Patea do not equal the amount of reserves authorized to be
made under "The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875," and it appears expedient to make the reserve hereinafter
mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the thirty-
seventh and thirty-eighth sections of "The Land Act 1877
Amendment Act, 1884," and of all other powers enabling me
in this behalf, do hereby declare that the land enumerated
in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be and the
same is hereby reserved for the purpose stated opposite to
the description of such land in the second column hereto, for
the benefit of the Borough of Patea, as constituted under
the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," on
the twentieth day of January, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two.
