Further Extending the Boundaries of the Orepuki and Longwood Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation under the hand of the Superintendent of Southland, bearing date the twenty-fifth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, certain land was declared to be a goldfield within the meaning of “The Goldfields Act, 1862,” under the name of the Orepuki and Longwood Goldfield:
And whereas by a further Proclamation, bearing date the nineteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, and issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, the boundaries of the aforesaid Orepuki and Longwood Goldfield were enlarged:
And whereas by the sixth section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time, by Proclamation, to constitute and appoint any portion of the colony to be a mining district under that Act, to assign boundaries to such district, to enlarge, contract, or otherwise alter such boundaries, and to declare by what local name every such district shall be designated; and that, until the Governor should otherwise order, every goldfield duly proclaimed or constituted at the time of the commencement of the now-recited Act shall be deemed a mining district under the said Act: And whereas it is desirable and expedient to enlarge the boundaries of the said goldfield:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Mines Act, 1877,” aforesaid, do hereby proclaim and order that the Orepuki and Longwood Goldfield Mining District aforesaid shall be and the same is hereby further enlarged, so that the boundaries of the said mining district shall henceforth be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land in the Southland division of the Provincial District of Otago, bounded towards the North by Sections Nos. 7, 82, and 105, Waiau District, and by the Orawia Stream, from said Section No. 105 to its junction with the Waiau River; towards the East by a line running from the south-east corner of said Section No. 7 to Ferndunlaw Hill; thence by a straight line to the source of the eastern branch of the Pourakino Stream; thence along said stream and along Jacob’s River to the ocean; thence westerly and thereafter north-westerly along the coast-line to the mouth of the Waiau River; thence north-easterly along the eastern bank of the Waiau River to the mouth of the Orawia Stream aforesaid: excepting from the above description all Native reserves, sold lands, and lands which have been legally withdrawn from the said goldfield.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zealand, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such land, and application has been made for the removal of such restrictions:
It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excellency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the alienation of the said land.

ALLOTMENT No. 74, PARISH OF WAIOTAH.
ALL that parcel of land in the Opotiki Survey District, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known as Allotment No. 74 of the Parish of Waiotahi, containing by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North by Allotment No. 70, 1545 links; towards the East by a road-line, 1385 links; towards the South by Allotment No. 76, 1402 links; and towards the West by a road-line, 1653 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
