described in the Schedule below, shall, on and after the date
above mentioned, become county roads, under the charge
and control of the Whangarei County Council.
SCHEDULE.
Main North Road.—Commencing at the eastern boundary
of Lot No. 133, Parish of Wairau, and extending to a point
in Lot No. 42, Parish of Waipu, about 16 chains northwards
of intersection with the Great North Road, and being a
distance of about four and a half miles.
Also commencing at a point abreast of the finger-post
opposite the mouth of the Ruakaka River and on the Waipu-
Marsden Road, and extending northwards through the Rua-
kaka Swamp to about 15 chains north of the intersection
with the Whakatete branch of the Ruakaka River, being a
distance of about six miles.
Also commencing at a point on the road forming the
southern boundary of Lot No. 42 in the Parish of Hikurangi,
and extending northwards to the northern boundary of the
county at Te Awa-o-te-po, being a distance of about eight
and three-quarter miles.

to be County Roads, under the Charge and Control of the
Bay of Islands County Council.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth
day of October, 1885.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency
Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order
that the roads in the County of Bay of Islands, described in
the Schedule below, shall, on and after the date above men-
tioned, become county roads, under the charge and control
of the Bay of Islands County Council.
SCHEDULE.
Main North Road.—Commencing on the southern boundary
of the county at Te Awa-o-te-po, and extending northwards
to the Towai Stream, being a distance of five and a half
miles.
Also commencing at a point about three-quarters of a mile
south of the northern boundary of the Hukerenui Block, and
extending northwards to the junction with the Kawakawa
Railway-line, being a distance of about six and three-quarter
miles.
Also commencing at the southern side of Prior’s Bridge or
that spanning the stream at the southern end of the scoria
flat, about two miles north of the junction with the Kawa-
kawa Railway-line, and extending northwards to the foot of
the northern side of Turntable Hill, being a distance of
about four miles.
Also the road crossing the Oropa River, with approaches
thereto, situate about half a mile north of Kawakawa.
Also the road crossing the Titirangi River, with approaches
thereto, situate between Pakaraka and Ohaeawai, about nine
miles north of Kawakawa.

Mongonui to Oruaiti Road.—Commencing at Mongonui Town-
ship, and extending southerly and westerly to the junction
with the old Oruru-Mongonui Road, being a distance of
about seven miles.
Main North Road.—Commencing at Peria, near the
northernmost corner of the Peria Block, at a point on the
old Peria-Victoria Valley Road, and extending westwards
as far as the south-western end of the bridge spanning the
Awanui River near the double crossing, being a distance of
about twelve and a quarter miles.
Also the road crossing the western branch of Oruaiti
River, with approaches thereto.
Also the road crossing the eastern branch of Oruaiti River,
with approaches thereto.
Also the roads crossing the two branches of the Ngara-
mauna Stream, between Tokatoka and Stony Creek, with the
approaches thereto.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of
September, 1885.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency
Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order that the Government work known as the Kawakawa
Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the
parcels of land more particularly described in the Schedule
hereto, and delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 13126,
deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at
Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, in the
said colony.
