*Districts constituted under "The Marriage Act, 1880."

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in the Governor by "The Marriage Act, 1880," I,
William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing
marriage district known as the Auckland District; and do
proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised
within the said district is hereby divided anew into two
marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall
be as follow:—

GREAT BARRIER DISTRICT.
The Great Barrier Island.

AUCKLAND DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the North by the sea from the Okura
River to the Wairoa River; towards the East by the Wairoa
River aforesaid to Hewlin's line; towards the South by
Hewlin's line aforesaid to the Papakura Creek; thence by
said creek and the waters of the Manukau Harbour to the
Manukau entrance; towards the West by the sea from the
Manukau entrance aforesaid to the north-western boundary
of the Taupaki Block; and towards the North-west by the
north-western boundary of block last named, and by a right
line thence to the eastern boundary of the Parish of Ararimu;
thence by said eastern boundary to the southern boundary of
the Pukeatua Block; thence by the southern and eastern
boundaries of said block to the southern boundary of the
land known as Dacre's Claim; thence by the southern boun-
dary of said claim to the Okura River, and by said river to
the sea, the place of commencement: including Waiheke,
Ponui, and adjacent islands, and also the Little Barrier
Island.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the ninth day of November, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this twentieth day of October, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-five.

and Deaths Act, 1875."

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in the Governor by "The Registration of Births
and Deaths Act, 1875," I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby abolish the existing registration district known as
the Auckland District; and do proclaim and declare that
the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is
hereby divided anew into two registration districts, the
names whereof shall be the Great Barrier and Auckland
Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous
with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the
same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date
herewith, made under the provisions of "The Marriage Act,
1880."

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the ninth day of November, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The River Boards Act, 1884," I,
William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby alter the boundaries of
the Kaikoura River District, and do hereby proclaim and
declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those
set forth in the Schedule hereto, and that this Proclamation
shall come into force on the first day of November, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the County of Kaikoura, in the Provincial
District of Marlborough, bounded towards the North by a
right line commencing on the left bank of the Kohai River
500 links north of the westernmost corner of Section No. 1,
Mount Fyffe Survey District, and proceeding to the northern-
most corner of that section; thence towards the North-east
by a road fronting Section No. 2; thence towards the North-
west by a road fronting Sections Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the
said survey district; again towards the North-east by Section
No. 52; again towards the North-west by a road fronting the
last-mentioned section; again towards the North-east by a
road fronting Section No. 63; again towards the North-west
by a road and Sections Nos. 63, 64, 65, and 66; again towards
the North-east by a road fronting Section No. 80; again
towards the North-west by a road and Sections Nos. 80, 79,
78, 77, 76, 75, 74, a road, and Sections No. 2 of 170, 169, 1 of
168, 167, 166, 165, 164, a road, and Sections Nos. 163, 162,
161, and the southern boundary-line of the last-mentioned
section produced to the ocean; thence towards the East by
the ocean to Charleston Creek; thence towards the South-
west by that creek to a road forming the southern boundary
of Section No. 223, Mount Fyffe Survey District aforesaid;
thence towards the South by that road and its continuation
past Sections Nos. 291, 197, 133, 132, 128, 127, 126, and
through Section No. 123 to the Kohai River aforesaid; thence
by a line due west to the middle of that river; thence towards
the West and South-west by a line along the middle of the
said Kohai River to a point due west of the place of com-
mencement; and thence again towards the North by a right
line to the place of commencement.

in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
land, and application has been made for the removal of
such restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty
days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and
in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the aliena-
tion of the said land.
