Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby notify that the following rivers, streams, and tidal
creeks within the colony may be used under license for the
purposes of the said Act:—

  1. The Oruru River and its tributaries and creeks, situate
    in the Mongonui County, Provincial District of Auckland.

  2. The Waitoki Stream, its tributaries and branches,
    and the Kaukapakapa River, its tributaries, streams, and
    branches, all situate in the Waitemata County, Provincial
    District of Auckland.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this ninth day of October, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
five.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
land, and application has been made for the removal of
such restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty
days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and
in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the aliena-
tion of the said land.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral

SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situated in the District of Coromandel,
Queen's County, containing 29·75 perches, be the same a little
more or less, and called or known by the name of Parangu
No. 13, and numbered 2273, being the whole of the block of
land comprised in the Crown grant registered in Vol. No. 3,
page 55, of the Register of Deeds Office, Auckland, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, in the Colony of New
Zealand.

Extending Time for First Elections, &c., County of
Ohinemuri.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth
day of October, 1885.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand
did, on the ninth day of September last past, appoint
that the elections of members of the County Council of the
County of Ohinemuri should be held on Saturday, the seven-
teenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-five, and did also appoint Tuesday, the twentieth day
of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, at
noon, to be the time, and the Public Hall, Paeroa, to be the
place, for holding the first meeting of the Council of the
said county: And whereas it is expedient to extend the
times for holding the said election and the first meeting of
the said County Council: Now, therefore, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers vested in him by section two hundred
and eleven of "The Counties Act, 1876," His Excellency the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby extend the time appointed for the election of mem-
bers of the County Council of the County of Ohinemuri to
Wednesday, the eleventh day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-five, and doth extend the time
appointed for the first meeting of the said Council to Tues-
day, the seventeenth day of November, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-five, at noon.

Fixing Sitting of Court of Appeal.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth
day of October, 1885.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Court of Appeal Act, 1882," it is
enacted that the Court shall hold its sittings at such
times and places as shall be from time to time fixed by the
Governor in Council, and proclaimed in the Government
Gazette twenty-one days at least before the time so fixed
respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby fix that a
sitting of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand shall be held
within the Supreme Courthouse, in the City of Wellington,
upon Tuesday, the tenth day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-five, at eleven o'clock in the fore-
noon.

September, 1885.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency
Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order that the Government work known as the Kawakawa
Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the
parcels of land more particularly described in the Schedule
hereto, and delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 13126,
deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at
Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, in the
said colony.
