Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland has recommended that the land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments; and that Wednesday, the eighteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for application, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the selection map in the principal land office of the district.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of “The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” I do hereby fix the price at which the land so described shall be sold to be the price stated in the Schedule hereto.

Proclaiming a Tailings Site at Piper's Flat, Westland.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the ninety-second section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be set apart for the deposit of tailings and débris from the gold workings or mining operations at Piper's Flat, or for the discharge of water, tailings, and refuse therefrom.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at the bridge over the Waimea Creek, on the main road to Hokitika, and extending thence south-westerly by a straight line to Murphy and party's special claim; thence along the northern boundary of said claim to the north-east corner peg; thence by a straight line running north to the Waimea Creek; thence along the southern bank of the Waimea Creek to the commencement.
