THE following special order, made by the Rodney County Council, is published in accordance with "The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882."

BY-LAW TO REGULATE THE TRAFFIC ON ROADS.

THAT between the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each year no person shall be allowed to draw over the county roads, except under the following conditions:—
(1.) On tires of 2 inches and under, to be drawn by not more than two horses or four bullocks, except the mail-coaches, or traps carrying passengers;
(2.) On tires of not less than 5 inches, three horses or six bullocks;
(3.) On tires of not less than 6 inches, four horses or eight bullocks;
(4.) On tires of not less than 7 inches, five horses or ten bullocks;
(5.) And any greater number of animals, to have tires of not less than 8 inches;
under a penalty of £5 for each offence, the said penalty to be recovered in a summary manner, under "The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882," before two or more Justices of the Peace.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a special order which was duly made at a meeting of the Rodney County Council, held at Warkworth, 25th July, 1885.

THAT this Council, by special order, declare the Clydevale Road Board to be dissolved, and the road district merged into the county, on and after the 15th day of August, 1885.

I HEREBY give notice that the following is the result of the poll for the special loan for the Eyre Water-race District, viz.:—
The number of votes on the roll are 93.
Votes polled in favour of the proposal .. 19
Votes polled against the proposal .. 0
The number of votes polled being less than two-thirds of the whole, I therefore declare the proposal lost.

Bonus for Kerosene.

Wellington, 18th February, 1885.

NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus will be paid for the production of kerosene under the following conditions:—

A bonus of sixpence per gallon will be paid on kerosene produced within the colony to an extent not exceeding 50,000 gallons, in quantities of not less than 10,000 gallons at a time; the kerosene to be of a quality approved of by Government, and to be sold at a fair average market price.

Conditions.

  1. Notice of intention to claim the above bonus must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st December, 1885.
  2. The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1886.
  3. The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions to be the recipient of the bonus.
  4. The other conditions as to quantity, priority, quality, and value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer appointed for the purpose by the Government.
