by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting.

  1. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  2. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first
    Wednesday in December in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  3. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  4. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chair-
    man.

  5. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Tara-
naki, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 2 perches,
more or less, being part of south-western portion of Section
No. 9 on the map of the Manutahi Settlement, Hawera
Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east by a
public road, 830Β½ links; towards the South-east by other
part of Section No. 9, 453 links; towards the South-west by
Section No. 8, 830 links; and towards the North-west by a
public road, 454 links.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of
June, 1885.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby order that the Government work known as the Wel-
ington-Napier Railway (from seventy-two to seventy-eight
miles from Napier) shall and may be constructed on or
through the parcels of land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto.

Vesting Reserves in the Town of Geraldine.

WHEREAS by section thirty-eight of "The Land Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1884," it is provided that the
reserves to be made for any borough or town district under
such section shall be made only in cases where no such
reserves for the purpose of sections three, five, and six of
"The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875," exist therein,
or, if existing, do not equal or exceed the amount of reserves
authorized to be made under such last-mentioned Act:

And whereas the existing reserves for the Town of
Geraldine do not equal the amount of reserves authorized
to be made under "The Plans of Towns Regulation Act,
1875," and it appears expedient to make the reserves herein-
after mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the thirty-
seventh and thirty-eighth sections of "The Land Act 1877
Amendment Act, 1884," and of all other powers enabling me
in this behalf, do hereby declare that the lands enumerated
in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be and the
same are hereby reserved for the purpose stated opposite to
the descriptions of such land in the second column hereto,
for the benefit of the Town of Geraldine, as constituted
under the provisions of "The Town Districts Act, 1881,"
on the nineteenth day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-four.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries
Act, 1882," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
the several persons whose names are specified in the first
column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for
the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified
in the second column of the said Schedule, in addition to
the land described in warrant dated the twenty-third day of
April, and published in the New Zealand Gazette number
twenty-six, of the thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-five.
