ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of July, 1885.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Sale Act, 1878,”
it is, amongst other things, enacted that the lands
described in the Schedule thereto may, at any time after
the passing of the said Act, be declared open for sale by the
Governor, under “The Land Act, 1877,” and Acts amending
the same:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand has, by Proclamation, set apart the lands
enumerated in the Schedule hereto for sale as a village
settlement:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon him by the hereinbefore in
part recited Act, and by and with the advice of the Executive
Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby fix the
following terms and conditions upon which the said village
settlement shall be disposed of, and the mode of payment for
the same, that is to say,—

The lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be
disposed of as small-farm allotments upon deferred pay-
ments. -
The day upon which the lands shall be open for appli-
cation shall be Wednesday, the twenty-eighth day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, at
the Land Office, Christchurch. -
The lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be
sold on deferred payments, and shall be subject to the pro-
visions relating to suburban lands of Part III. of “The Land
Act, 1877.” -
No person shall be allowed to acquire more than one
section upon deferred payments. -
The price stated in the Schedule hereto shall be the
price at which the lands shall be open for application. -
If there should be more than one application for any
allotment, the right to occupy the same shall be determined
by lot amongst the applicants. -
Each applicant for a deferred-payment section will
be required to make the declaration prescribed by sec-
tion sixty-two of “The Land Act, 1877,” and shall at the
time of application deposit with the Receiver of Land
Revenue for the Canterbury Land District one-tenth of the
price of the allotment. Such payment shall be deemed to
be a discharge of the license-fee for the six months due on
the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six.

Vesting Reserves in the Kaikoura Board of River Conser-
vators.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of July, 1885.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
were reserved for the protection of river banks:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient
to vest the said lands in the Kaikoura Board of River Con-
servators:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of
“The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserves
shall become vested in the Kaikoura Board of River Con-
servators, in trust, for the improvement and protection of the
Waimanarara River.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the District of Kaikoura Suburban,
Provincial District of Marlborough, containing by admea-
surement 228 acres 2 roods 15 perches, be the same a little
more or less, being Sections Nos. 2 of 29, 30, 31, and 32 in
the said district. Bounded towards the North by part of
Section No. 295, in the said district; towards the West by
Section No. 1 of 29, in the said district; again towards the
North by a public road along the southern boundary of said
Section No. 1 of 29; again towards the West by a public
road to the south-west angle of Section No. 32, in the said
district; towards the South by a public road to the Wai-
manarara River; and towards the East by that river to the
commencing point: as the same is delineated on the official
map in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim.
Also all that parcel of land in the Mount Fyffe Survey Dis-
trict, Provincial District of Marlborough, estimated to contain
about 124 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the South
partly by a public road along the northern boundaries of Sec-
tions Nos. 176 and 177, in the District of Kaikoura Suburban,
and partly by Section No. 292, in the said district, to the
northern angle of said Section No. 292; thence towards the
East and South-east by Section No. 38, on the Kincaid Run,
to a public road; thence towards the North by that public
road to the eastern boundary of a public reserve; and towards
the West by that reserve: as the same is delineated on the
official map in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,”
His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated
the thirteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one, making delegation of certain powers in man-
er as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and
consent, by this present order, delegate, but only with respect
to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule
hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except
the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve
thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known
as the Manutahi Public Domain Board, namely,—
The Patea County Council
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
the first Wednesday in each month, at eleven o’clock a.m.,
at the office of the County Council, or at such other time
or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.
The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the fifth
day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five. -
