Revoking the. Setting-apart of land in Otago for Agricultural Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-fourth section of "The Mines
Act, 1877," it is, amongst other things, enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor to cause Crown lands
situate within a gold field to be selected and set apart for the
purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor,
or for alienation by occupation licenses on deferred payments
under any law for the time being in force in the land district
in which such mining district is situate:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
was, by Proclamation dated the eighteenth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy, set apart for agricultural lease:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to revoke the said
Proclamation in so far as it relates to the land mentioned in
the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the
said Proclamation of the eighteenth day of February, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy, in so far as it relates
to the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Canterbury.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The Public Reserves Sale Act,
1882," and the fifty-third section of "The Land Act, 1877,"
I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be set apart
for sale on deferred payments, at the Land Offices at Christ-
church and Timaru, on Wednesday, the fifth day of August,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

And, in pursuance of the fifth section of "The Land Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do hereby fix the price at
which the land so described shall be sold to be the price
stated in the Schedule hereto.

Lands set apart as Endowments for Primary Education.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Education Reserves Act, 1877," it
is, amongst other things, enacted that, in order to
provide an endowment for primary education in the North
Island, at least five per centum of the waste lands in each
district therein open for sale on the first day of January, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, and a like per
centum out of all land over which the Native title may
thereafter be extinguished in each such district, and which
should from time to time be acquired or purchased by or on
behalf of the Crown, should be reserved and set apart as an
endowment for the maintenance of primary education within
the education district in which the land is situated:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers and authorities vested in me by the said recited
Act, and of every other power and authority me thereunto
enabling, do hereby reserve and set apart the several blocks
or parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto as endow-
ments for the maintenance of primary education within the
education districts in which such blocks or parcels of land
are respectively situated.
