ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Southland Land
District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 0·6 perch,
more or less, being a portion of Education Reserve 48, Block
III., New River Hundred, and bounded as follows: Com-
mencing at the south-west corner of Section No. 48 afore-
said; thence at a bearing of 90° 0′ 30″ for a distance of 2000
links; thence at a bearing of 0° 0′ 30″ for a distance of 1000
links; thence at a bearing of 270° 0′ 30″ for a distance of
203·7 links; thence at a bearing of 180° 0′ 30″ for a distance
of 100 links; thence at a bearing of 90° 0′ 30″ for a distance
of 103·7 links; thence at a bearing of 180° 0′ 30″ for a distance
of 800 links; thence at a bearing of 270° 0′ 30″ for a distance
of 1900 links; thence at a bearing of 180° 0′ 30″ for a distance
of 100 links to the starting point: as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 13005,
deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at
Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

District of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken, under "The Public Works Act,
1882," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road
in the Arai Road District, Provincial District of Auckland:
And whereas the Arai Road Board has laid before the
Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also
the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
section eleven of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the
purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the land so mentioned shall become absolutely
vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all
mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind
soever, for use as a road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 9 acres
and 33 perches, more or less, situated in the Patutahi Survey
District, in the Arai Road District, and being a road-line,
100 links wide, traversing Sections Nos. 2 and 1, Block VIII.,
Patutahi Survey District, and a portion of Te Arai No. 2
Block, in the Arai Road District; commencing at a distance
of 137 links or thereabouts from the north-western angle of
Section No. 2 on its north-western boundary. Bounded—
Northerly generally by lines, 764, 1895, 3108, 1568, 1266, and
1076 links respectively; Southerly generally by lines, 2334,
1592, 3135, 1880, and 876 links respectively; North-westerly
by a line, 165 links, to the commencing point.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; the said land
being situated in the Provincial District of Auckland; as
the same is delineated on plan marked P.W.D. 13004,
deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at
Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and
thereon coloured pink.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable

links, being the boundary-line between Lots 1 and 2;
Northerly by lines, 1699 links and 330 links respectively;
South-easterly by high-water mark of Shoal Bay, Waite-
mata Harbour, to point of commencement: as the same is
more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D.
12944, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public
Works, at Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the seventeenth section of "The
Land Act 1887 Amendment Act, 1882," I, William Francis
Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, do hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date
hereof, the notification of the twenty-first day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, by His Excellency
the Governor, setting apart the sections of land enumerated
in the Schedule hereto for sale as pastoral land on deferred
payments, shall be and the same is hereby revoked.
