A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS under the provisions of "The Impounding Act, 1884" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), the Borough Council of Caversham, in the Provincial District of Otago, have, by a resolution passed by more than two-thirds of the members of the said Council, requested His Excellency the Governor to declare that sections five and six of the said Act shall be in force within the borough aforesaid: And whereas it appears expedient to give effect to the said resolution:

Now, therefore, I, William Frederick Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred by the said Act, do hereby declare that sections five and six of the said Act shall be in force within the Borough of Caversham aforesaid, as from the date hereof.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zealand, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such land, and application has been made for the removal of such restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excellency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the alienation of the said land.

PORTIONS of Waotu North No. 28 Block, Waikato, containing together about 28 acres, proposed to be acquired by the Crown for educational and telegraph purposes, as delineated on the plan of the said block, deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.

Order to take Land for the North Island Main Trunk Railway. Length about 210 miles.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of April, 1885.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, order that a railway, having an average width of three hundred links, extending from a point on the right bank of the Puniu River, in the Provincial District of Auckland, to a point at the intersection of the railway-line from Foxton to New Plymouth Railway, situated in Section seven, Block three, Rangitoto Survey District, Provincial District of Wellington, shall be constructed on or through all lands held or occupied by Native owners; the total length being two hundred and ten miles or thereabouts: as delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 12069, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of April, 1885.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 12811, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, in the said colony.
