A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Waitemata County, Provincial District of Auckland: And whereas the Waitemata County Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so mentioned shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 25 perches and 2 acres 3 roods 16 perches respectively, more or less, situated in the Parish of Waipareira, in the County of Waitemata, and being a line of road, 100 links wide, traversing Sections Nos. 21 and 22:—
Portion containing 3 acres and 25 perches: Commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of Section No. 21 at a distance of 2528 links or thereabouts from its northernmost angle. Bounded—North-easterly by lines, 1864 and 1299 links respectively; South-easterly by a line, 100 links; South-westerly by lines, 1289 and 1863 links respectively; North-westerly, 100 links, to the commencing point.
Portion containing 2 acres 3 roods 16 perches: Commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 21 at a distance of 2912 links or thereabouts from its easternmost angle. Bounded—North-easterly by lines, 1639 and 1171 links respectively; South-easterly by a line, 114 links; South-westerly by lines, 1129 and 1660 links respectively; North-westerly by a line, 100 links, to the commencing point; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As the same is delineated on plan marked P.W.D. 12945, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.
