Mining Notice.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-
RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at Kaniere, and all other persons
whom it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a water-
race and divert water for mining purposes, com-
mencing at a point on the right-hand branch of Kaniere
River, one mile above Benard’s Creek, taking from it ten
heads of water, crossing Benard’s Creek and taking there-
from four heads of water, then crossing McGregor’s Creek
and taking from it three heads of water, and terminating at
applicants’ extended claim, situated between the right-hand
branch of the Kaniere River and Parnel’s Creek.
The length of such race is four miles or thereabouts, and
its intended course is north and south.
The estimated time for construction and completion is
three years,
The mean depth is 3 feet, and the mean breadth 4 feet,
and it is intended to divert twenty Government-heads of
water.

THE ORAKEI NATIVE RESERVE ACT, 1885.
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition will be presented
to the General Assembly at Wellington, at its next
sitting, praying for leave to introduce a Bill to be entitled
“The Orakei Native Reserve Act, 1885.”
By the said Bill it is intended to grant greater facilities
for leasing; to repeal “The Orakei Native Reserve Act,
1882;” to extend the time for which the land can be leased
to sixty years; to make provision for roads, paths, churches,
and public buildings by dedication or otherwise; to relieve
the land from the payment of Native duty.
A copy of the said Bill and a plan of the land to be
affected thereby are deposited in the Resident Magistrate’s
Court, Auckland, and copies of the said proposed Bill will
be deposited in the Examiner’s Office at Wellington within
ten days of this date.

WE, the undersigned WILLIAM ALEXANDER McDOWELL

subsisting between us has this day been dissolved by mutual
consent. All debts owing to the late firm must be paid to
James McDowell, whose receipt alone will be a sufficient
