Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:
And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on the fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, pass a resolution recommending that the land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred payments:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments; and that Monday, the fourth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for application, as surveyed and marked on the selection map in the principal land office of the district.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage district known as the Greytown District, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—
GREYTOWN DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Wellington bounded towards the North-east generally by a right line due east from the summit of the Tararua Range to the source of the Waiohine River; thence by said river to its confluence with the Ruamahanga River; thence by the latter river and the western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 6 and 5, Ahiaruhe Block, and by Sections Nos. 56, 58, 60, 61, 38, 40, to the north-east corner of Section No. 40, Huangarua Survey District; thence by a right line to trig. station, Maungaraki; thence by a right line to Mount Adams; thence by a right line to the ocean at the mouth of the Waihingaia River; towards the South-east by the ocean to the Pahaoa River; thence towards the South-west generally by that river to its confluence with the Kaikai kuri Stream; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 96 of the Ahiaruhe Block, Huangarua Survey District; thence by the Whangaehu Stream to its confluence with the Huangarua River; thence by that river to Section No. 103 of the said survey district; thence by the said Section No. 103 and by Sections Nos. 21, 90, 91, 80, 28, 27, 31, 70, and 69, Wairarapa Survey District, by a road fronting Sections Nos. 92 and 33, and by the last-mentioned section to the Tauherenikau River; thence by the said Tauherenikau River to the north-western corner of Section No. 102, Waiohine Survey District; thence by a line magnetic west to the summit of the Tararua Range; and thence towards the north-west by the summit of the said Tararua Range.
FEATHERSTON DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Wellington bounded towards the North-east generally by the Greytown District, hereinbefore described; towards the South-east and South-west by the ocean; and towards the North-west by the summits of the Rimutaka and the Tararua Ranges.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the eighth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.
