Appendix to "Impounding Act, 1884," to be in force in Picton.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS under the provisions of "The Impounding Act, 1884" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), the Borough Council of Picton, in the Provincial District of Marlborough, have, by a resolution passed by more than two-thirds of the members of the said Council, requested His Excellency the Governor to declare that sections five and six of the said Act shall be in force within the borough aforesaid, as from the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five: And whereas it appears expedient to give effect to the said resolution:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred by the said Act, do hereby declare that sections five and six of the said Act shall be in force within the Borough of Picton aforesaid, as from the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby declare that the sections of land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of sections three to forty-eight of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882."

Setting apart Land in Otago for Agricultural Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-fourth section of "The Mines Act, 1877," it is, amongst other things, enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor to cause Crown lands situate within a gold field to be selected and set apart for the purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor, or for alienation by occupation licenses on deferred payments under any law for the time being in force in the land district in which such mining district is situate:

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto are Crown lands subject to be dealt with under the provisions of the said Act, and it is deemed expedient to set the same apart for the purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby select and set apart, for the purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor, the lands described in the Schedule hereto; and do fix the twenty-first day of May next ensuing, at the Warden's Office at Clyde, as the day and place on which the said land shall be open for application, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the selection maps in that office.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on the fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, pass a resolution recommending that the land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale
