Declaring a certain Road in the Karamu Road District to be a District Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At Wellington, this twenty-third day of February, 1885.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the road in the Karamu Road District, described in the Schedule below, shall, on and after the date above mentioned, become a district road, under the charge and control of the Karamu Road Board.

SCHEDULE.

So much of the Whatawhata–Raglan Road, exclusive of the bridge over the Waipa River at or near Whatawhata, as lies within the Karamu Road District, County of Raglan.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of February, 1885.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” it is enacted that, if it be found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under that Act or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise however, for public works, is not required for public use, the Governor may, by an Order in Council, publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein set forth :

And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor the memorial referred to in the section aforesaid, praying the Governor, by an Order in Council, to cause such land to be sold :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities aforesaid, do hereby order and authorize the land described in the Schedule hereto to be sold and dealt with in the manner and subject to the conditions of the fourteenth and following sections of the above in part recited Act.

SCHEDULE.

RAILWAY LAND ABUTTING ON HAZELDEAN ROAD, BOROUGH OF SYDENHAM.

All that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 11 perches, more or less, commencing at a point on the south side of Hazeldean Road 776 links westward from Selwyn Street; and bounded towards the North by Hazeldean Road aforesaid, 375·5 links; towards the East by a line bearing 179° 46′ 30″, 85·4 links; towards the South by a line bearing 89° 48′ 13″, 375·5 links; and towards the West by a line bearing 179° 48′, 85·4 links.

All that area containing by admeasurement 36 perches, more or less, bounded towards the North by Hazeldean Road, 400·5 links; towards the East by Selwyn Street, 55·4 links; towards the South by a line bearing 89° 48′ 13″, 400·5 links; and towards the West by a line bearing 179° 46′ 30″, 55·4 links.

All that area containing by admeasurement 6 perches, more or less, bounded towards the North by Hazeldean Road, 239 links; towards the East by a line bearing 179° 48′, 15·5 links; towards the South by a line parallel to the said Hazeldean Road, 239 links; and towards the West by Park Road, 15·5 links,

The above parcels of land being situated in the Borough of Sydenham, Provincial District of Canterbury; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same are more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 12813, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Order to take Land for a Road from the Wanganui River up the Kauarapaoa River.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of February, 1885.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, order that a road one hundred links wide shall be constructed on or through land held or occupied by Native owners, situated between the Wanganui River and the northern boundary of the Tokomaru Block, and abutting on the Kauarapao River.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 1 perch, situate in the Survey District of Christchurch, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, being portion of Rural Section No. 298; commencing at a point on the southern boundary of said rural section 2444 links from the south-west corner thereof, and bounded as follows: Towards the South by the southern boundary of Rural Section No. 298, 60·5 links; towards the East by a straight line, 1262·3 links; towards the North by the northern boundary of Rural Section No. 298, 60·5 links; and towards the West by a straight line, 1262·2 links, to the commencing point: as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 12696, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
